Continuous purification of a parvovirus using two aqueous two‐phase extraction steps

open access: yesBiotechnology Progress, EarlyView.
Abstract Aqueous two‐phase systems (ATPS) are a liquid–liquid extraction method that offers low‐cost, continuous‐adaptable virus purification. A two‐step ATPS using polyethylene glycol (PEG) and sodium citrate that recovered 66% of infectious porcine parvovirus with 2.0 logs of protein removal and 1.0 logs of DNA removal in batch has now been run ...

Recent Advancements in the Hydrodeoxygenation of Lignin‐Derived Phenols to Cyclohexane‐Based Products Over Supported Ruthenium Catalysts

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
This review elucidates structure‐activity relationships in Ru‐supported catalysts for hydrodeoxygenation of lignin‐derived phenolics to cyclohexane‐based products. It highlights the synergy between Ru nanoparticle size, dispersion, and electronic state with tailored support acidity and defects, enabling efficient hydrogenation–deoxygenation.

The Impact of X‐ray Damage in Chemical Crystalline Materials and New Opportunities for Small Molecule Serial Crystallography

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The impact of X‐ray damage in chemical crystals was minimised by the introduction of area detectors in the late 20th‐century. Now, ever‐brighter X‐ray sources are re‐establishing X‐ray damage as a key challenge. This article reviews recent observations of X‐ray‐induced processes in chemical samples and discusses state‐of‐the‐art methodologies for their

Hydrogen from Biogas: Dynamic Modeling of an Integrated Shift Reactor

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
A dynamic, two‐dimensional shift reactor model for the production of hydrogen from biogas is presented. This shift reactor enables the preheating of the biogas feed and, in parallel, reduces fixed‐bed temperatures, resulting in increased hydrogen yields. The model is validated with measurement data from a pilot biogas steam reforming plant.

What Types of Knowledge‐Intensive Business Services Use Services as a Source of Innovation?

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Administrative Sciences / Revue Canadienne des Sciences de l'Administration, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The paper examines the factors that influence why knowledge‐intensive business services (KIBS) draw from other KIBS firms in their innovation activities. We provide new empirical evidence on specific firm‐level conditions under which the interactions between KIBS–KIBS are more (or less) likely to be observed. The effects of internal resources,

CSR Decoupling and Assurance of CSR Reports: Do Combinations of Level, Scope, and Assurance Provider Matter?

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In response to growing concerns about the credibility of corporate social responsibility (CSR) reports, this study examines the relationship between external assurance on CSR reports and CSR decoupling. Specifically, we explore how combinations of the level and scope of assurance, and the type of assurance provider are associated with a ...
