Identification of European (Capreolus capreolus L.) and Siberian (C. pygargus Pall.) roe deer hybrids by microsatellite marker analysis

Russian Journal of Genetics, 2014
An analysis of 130 tissue specimens of the European (Capreolus capreolus) and the Siberian (C. pygargus) roe deer from nine regions of Russia and Ukraine using microsatellite loci analysis was conducted, aimed at the identification of hybrid animals.

Histological and lectin histochemical studies on the olfactory mucosae of the Korean roe deer, Capreolus pygargus

Tissue and Cell, 2015
The morphological features of the olfactory mucosae of Korean roe deer, Capreolus pygargus, were histologically studied using the ethmoid turbinates containing the olfactory mucosae from six roe deer (male, 2-3 years old). The ethmoid turbinates were embedded in paraffin, and histochemically evaluated in terms of the mucosal characteristics.

Analysis of the variability of the control region and cytochrome b gene of mtDNA of Capreolus pygargus Pall

Biology Bulletin, 2011
Analysis the of cytochrome b gene (1140 b.p.) polymorphism and polymorphism of 79 specimens of the control region (934 b.p.) of mtDNA of the Siberian roe deer Capreolus pygargus from 23 regions of Russia and Kazakhstan has been carried out. The combined alignment of two fragments ofmitochondrial DNA revealed 36 haplotypes, which are distributed in ...

Correlations of Environmental Factors with the Roe Deer (Capreolus pygargus) Population Genetic Variability

International Journal of Digital Content Technology and its Applications, 2013
Understanding the genetic variability within a species population is important for elucidating adaptive divergence and potential mechanisms involved in speciation. Excluding geographical limitations, historical events and human disturbance, complex environmental conditions also influence the amount of gene flow among populations.

Immunohistochemical study of arginases 1 and 2 in the olfactory bulbs of the Korean roe deer, Capreolus pygargus

Acta Histochemica, 2017
Arginases are enzymes of the urea cycle that catalyze the hydrolysis of l-arginine to ornithine and urea. The enzymes are core components of the arginine-ornithine-glutamate-γ-amino butyric acid pathway of the central nervous system. In the present study, we immunohistochemically determined the localization of arginase 1 and 2 in the olfactory bulb (OB)

[Morphological peculiarities of terminal placental villi in Capreolus capreolus pygargus].

Morfologiia (Saint Petersburg, Russia), 2006
This investigation was aimed at the study of peculiarities of placentation in Siberian roe (Capreolus capreolus pygargus)--one of the representatives of the Cervidae family which is characterized by an embryonic diapause. Using histological and morphometric methods, the main structural-functional regularities of the organization of roe placenta were ...

A morphological study of the vomeronasal organ and the accessory olfactory bulb in the Korean roe deer, Capreolus pygargus

Acta Histochemica, 2014
The vomeronasal organ (VNO) and accessory olfactory bulb (AOB) of the Korean roe deer (Capreolus pygargus) were studied histologically to evaluate their morphological characteristics. Grossly, the VNO, encased by cartilage, has a paired tubular structure with a caudal blind end and a rostral connection through incisive ducts on the hard palate.

Glycan diversity in the vomeronasal organ of the Korean roe deer, Capreolus pygargus : A lectin histochemical study

Acta Histochemica, 2017
Glycans in the epithelium play an important role in cell-to-cell communication and adhesion. No detailed evaluation of glycoconjugates in the vomeronasal organs (VNO) of the roe deer has been published previously. The aim of this study was to characterize glycan epitopes in the vomeronasal sensory epithelium (VSE) and non-sensory epithelium (VNSE ...
