Photosynthate translocation in Capsicum annuum

Planta, 1976
The leaves of Capsicum annuum L. cv. California Wonder function as efficient carbon exporting organs for a large part of their life span. Young and old leaves export the same percentage of fixed carbon (74% within 24 hours) although fixation rates per unit area of young leaves may be three times that of old leaves.

Pepper, Chili (Capsicum annuum)

2014
Pepper is a recalcitrant plant for Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation. Several obstacles to genetic transformation remain such as extremely low transformation rates; the choice of correct genotype is critical; and there is a high frequency of false positives due to direct shoot formation.

Pepper, Sweet (Capsicum annuum)

2014
Capsicum (pepper) species are economically important crops that are recalcitrant to genetic transformation by Agrobacterium (Agrobacterium tumefaciens). A number of protocols for pepper transformation have been described but are not routinely applicable.

Final Report on the Safety Assessment of Capsicum Annuum Extract, Capsicum Annuum Fruit Extract, Capsicum Annuum Resin, Capsicum Annuum Fruit Powder, Capsicum Frutescens Fruit, Capsicum Frutescens Fruit Extract, Capsicum Frutescens Resin, and Capsaicin1

International Journal of Toxicology, 2007
Capsicum-derived ingredients function as skin-conditioning agents—miscellaneous, external analgesics, flavoring agents, or fragrance components in cosmetics. These ingredients are used in 19 cosmetic products at concentrations as high as 5%. Cosmetic-grade material may be extracted using hexane, ethanol, or vegetable oil and contain the full range of ...

Biosynthese der Capsaicinoide in Capsicum annuum L. var. annuum

Planta Medica, 1981
The biosynthesis of the branched fatty acid moiety of Capsaicinoids was examined by radioisotopic technique. Labelled nordihydrocapsaicin (NDHC), homocapsaicin I (HC I) and homodihydrocapsaicin I (HDHC I) were isolated from CAPSICUM fruits which had been fed L-leucine-U- (14)C via cotton wicks inserted into the stems.

Steroidal glycosides from Capsicum annuum

Phytochemistry, 1994
Four new steroidal glycosides, named capsicosides A-D together with proto-degalactotigonin, were isolated from the roots and seeds of Capsicum annuum var. conoides and Capsicum annuum var. fasciculatum. On the basis of detailed chemical and spectroscopic evidence, the structures of capsicosides A-D were shown to be furostanol glycosides corresponding ...
