A simple method of implantation within the capsular bag
Journal - American Intra-Ocular Implant Society, 1983We describe a new method of implantation in the capsular bag. The initial anterior capsulotomy incision is limited to a linear opening from 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock. The nucleus is expressed and the cortical remnants are removed. An implant, specially designed for this technique, is introduced vertically between anterior and posterior capsules and then ...

Assessment of intraocular lens/capsular bag biomechanical interactions following cataract surgery in a human in vitro graded culture capsular bag model [PDF]
Intraocular lenses (IOLs) are implanted during cataract surgery. For optimum results, stable positioning of the IOL in the capsular bag is important. Wound-healing events following cataract surgery lead to modification of the capsular bag and secondary ...

OCT Imaging of Capsular Block Syndrome With Crystalline Cortical Remnants in the Capsular Bag
A 72-year-old woman with cataract had phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation in the capsular bag with continuous curvilinear capsulorrhexis in the right eye. One day postoperatively, cortical remnants were noted between the posterior capsule and the intraocular lens optic located inferiorly. Uncorrected visual acuity was 1.0

AbstractPurpose: To describe the surgical process of extraction of the capsular bag of the crystalline lens from the cadaveric donor and its posterior implant in aniridia and aphakia cases. Methods: This surgical procedure was used in three posttraumatic aniridia and aphakia patients, and in a aphakic case with uveitis‐glaucoma‐ hyphema (UGH) syndrome ...

Complete capsular bag distension syndrome
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2000After conventional extracapsular cataract extraction and in-the-bag intr aocular lens (IOL) implantation 3 years previously, the partially cut su perior one-third of the anterior capsulotomy flap resealed in the eye of a 55-year-old woman. With the integrity of the capsular bag restored, it distended fully; the IOL was in the center and milky fluid ...

Implantation of a Disc Lens in the Capsular Bag
Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 1988ABSTRACT We report a series of 65 cataract extractions with implantation of a rigid, posteriorly vaulted, disc-shaped lens in the capsular bag. Eighty-nine percent achieved 20/40 vision or better, and 54% achieved 20/20 vision or better. The lens remained well centered in all cases.

Flanged iris hook for capsular bag stabilization
Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, 2022A new surgical technique was demonstrated for fixating the capsular bag to the sclera using a capsular tension segment (CTS) and a flanged iris hook. In a patient with a 180-degree zonular dialysis, a capsular tension ring was implanted into the capsular bag, and a CTS was placed into the zonular dialysis area after cataract removal. Then, an iris hook

Postoperative capsular bag distension
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 1992Seven cases of capsular bag distension following capsulorhexis and phacoemulsification with posterior chamber intraocular lens insertion are presented. The proposed physiological mechanism, associated consequences, and complications and treatment are presented.
