Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Extreme value analysis for safety benefit estimation of adaptive cruise control (ACC)

open access: yesTraffic Safety Research
As new automated features enter the automotive market, we need methods to assess their safety in a rapid, proactive, and iterative way. The traditional way of relying on crash statistics does not meet these needs.

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

A Car-Following Driver Model Capable of Retaining Naturalistic Driving Styles

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation, 2020
The modeling of car-following behavior is an attractive research topic in traffic simulation and intelligent transportation. The driver plays an important role in car following but is ignored by most car-following models.

Empirical Description of Car-Following

open access: yes, 2007
This contribution reports a recently recorded data-set that helps to understand the car-following process better. Since the empirical basis of most traffic flow models can be called weak, these findings may help to design better models. They demonstrate, that the process of car-following seems to have a very interestic stochastic dynamics.

Transmission Capacity Analysis for Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Traditional studies focused on the transmission capacity of vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) contains two deficiencies: the lack of a realistic model mimicking the behaviors of vehicles and the failure to consider the impacts from enhanced distributed ...
