Structure‐Guided Dynamical Mechanics in Bioinspired Double Twisted Laminated Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores a dynamic mechanistic study of crack propagation and puncture testing via real‐time monitoring of crack initiation, propagation, and termination through nature‐inspired single and double twisted architectures fabricated from cellulose nanocrystals.

Modeling Lane Changes at Freeway On-Ramps With a Novel Car-Following Model Based on Desired Time Headways

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation
The traffic flow at freeway on-ramps is influenced not only by the lane changes made by merging vehicles but also by the longitudinal behavior of the merging vehicles and vehicles in the main lane.

An Integrated Oxygen‐Supplying Device and Predictive Multiphysics Model for Extended Ambient Transport of Insulin‐Producing Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cell therapies typically rely on cold‐chain logistics and cryopreservation, limiting access and compromising cell quality. Here, a dual‐chamber device separates an oxygen‐supplying chamber from a hyaluronic acid cargo chamber, sustaining oxygen delivery for over 70 h and enabling ambient‐temperature shipment.

Hydrogel‐Based 3D‐Printed Anthropomorphic Breast Phantom for Emulating Mechanical and Dielectric Properties of Mammary Tissue. Applications in Microwave Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D‐printable breast phantom is developed using patient‐derived MRI data and hydrogels that replicate the dielectric properties of healthy and cancerous tissues. Mechanical and dielectric characterization confirm its suitability for microwave imaging.

Stochastic parameter-optimized car-following model considering heterogeneous traffic flow

open access: yesShenzhen Daxue xuebao. Ligong ban
In order to examine the impact of traffic flow heterogeneity on vehicle following behavior, we propose an improved optimized speed function based on the stochastic parametric linear regression method.

Self‐Assembled Crystalline Peptoid Nanomaterials as Metal‐Free Enzyme Mimics for Enhanced Carbon Dioxide Hydration and Precipitation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by metal‐free carbonic anhydrases (CAs) that achieve efficient catalysis without metal cofactors, we herein report a sequence‐defined supramolecular peptoid platform that mimics metal‐free CAs and exhibits hydrolytic activity via a supramolecular assembly‐mediated proton‐transfer mechanism.

A New Car-Following Model considering Driving Characteristics and Preceding Vehicle’s Acceleration

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation, 2017
In the past decades, many improved car-following models based on the full velocity difference (FVD) model have been developed. But these models do not consider the acceleration of leading vehicle. Some of them consider individual anticipation behavior of

Halide Composition Controls Phase Morphology and Device Specific Performance in Perovskite Photovoltaics and Light Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that halide composition determines phase morphology, governing distinct operating mechanisms in mixed halide perovskites. Phase segregating 75% Br compositions enhance solar cell performance, whereas intrinsically phase‐separated 95% Br compositions provide stable light emitting diodes.

Stability Analysis of an Extended Car-Following Model with Consideration of the Surrounding Leading Vehicles and the Rear Vehicle

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The application of intelligent and connected technologies, such as vehicle-to-everything (V2X), profoundly influences car-following behavior and traffic flow characteristics.

Serialization of Behavior During Car Following in Older Drivers

open access: yesDriving Assessment Conference 2015, 2015
Age-related declines in cognitive functioning can push older adults to adopt strategies that may or may not improve their driving safety. Previous research suggests one strategy involves performing complex driving tasks (e.g., right turn negotiation) in discrete steps (“serialization”) rather than fluidly.
