Research of Drivers' Car-Following Behavior with Car-Following Suggestion
CICTP 2012, 2012Cooperative Vehicle Infrastructure System (CVIS) will bring a more precise control of drivers' car-following behavior and benefit traffic flow stability and efficiency. In order to reflect the influence of CVIS on drivers' behavior, a car-following experimental suggestion system has been built.

Capturing Car-Following Behaviors by Deep Learning
IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, 2018In this paper, we propose a deep neural network-based car-following model that has two distinctive properties. First, unlike most existing car-following models that take only the instantaneous velocity, velocity difference, and position difference as inputs, this new model takes the velocities, velocity differences, and position differences that were ...

Influence of Driving Behaviors on the Stability in Car Following
IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, 2019Car following is the most common phenomenon in single-lane traffic. However, the propagation of the small perturbation of the velocity of the leading car will affect traffic flow. Driving behaviors play an important role in the determination of the qualitative dynamics of vehicles in the car-following process.

On driver's braking behavior in car following
SICE Annual Conference 2007, 2007A new index have been proposed to evaluate danger situation in car following based on the hypothesis that drivers evaluate collision risk for preceding car and decide braking behavior with change of area of a preceding car on the retina. Based on the index, braking behaviors in car following situation is analyzed.

Nonlinear Analysis of Individual Vehicle Behavior in Car Following
2008 11th International IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems, 2008It is well known that traffic systems are highly nonlinear. Previous research has shown the existence of the chaotic behavior in traffic flow data. However, the corresponding result in individual vehicle behavior has not been investigated. In this paper, we use tools of nonlinear time series analysis to explore the chaotic characteristic from data of ...

General Approach for Simulating Heterogeneity of Car-Following Behaviors
2009 WRI World Congress on Computer Science and Information Engineering, 2009This paper presents a general approach to simulate heterogeneity of car-following behaviors in freeway traffic. This is achieved by proposing a new car-following model called General Individual Based car-following Model (GIBM) which takes into account the characteristics of the individual driver.

Anticipation Driving Behavior in Car Following Theory
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014In this paper, a new anticipation driving car-following model (AD-TVDM) is presented based on the two velocity difference model (TVDM)[1], taking into the effect of anticipation driving behavior in real world. The nature of the model is investigated by using linear and nonlinear analysis method.

Multiagent Cooperation for Decision-Making in the Car-Following Behavior
2016This paper presents a decision-making model for determining the velocity and safety distance values basing-on anticipation of the simulation parameters. Thus, this paper is composed of two parts. In the first one, we used a bi-level bi-objective modeling to address the problem of decision-making with two objectives, which are, maximize the safety ...

The effect of fatigue driving on car following behavior
Transportation Research Part F: Traffic Psychology and Behaviour, 2016Abstract Existing fatigued driving analysis methods mainly focus on lateral driving performance by using the measurements related to the steering wheel or lane position. There is a lack of research on longitudinal car following behavior. In this study, 40 professional drivers are invited to participate in field expressway driving experiment, lasting ...
