Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae: A diagnostic, epidemiological and therapeutic challenge
The global spread of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE) has become a public health problem. Not all CPE are resistant to carbapenems creating a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge.

This study examines the prevalence of blaNDM‐1 and blaIMP‐1 metallo‐β‐lactamase genes in meropenem‐resistant Escherichia coli isolates using mCIM and PCR. The results indicate a higher prevalence of blaNDM‐1 and suggest the presence of alternative resistance mechanisms in some strains, emphasizing the need for further research on antimicrobial ...

This study investigates the prevalence of multidrug‐resistant Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae in South Lebanon's Saida region, focusing on ESBL and carbapenemase production. Results showed a high prevalence of ESBL producers (89.5%) and a lower rate of carbapenemase producers (10.5%), with blaCTX‐M being the most common ESBL gene.

Novel nanoparticle‐mediated plasmid delivery in bacteria for difficult applications
Abstract BACKGROUND This study presents the development and application of magnetite/silver‐pDMAEMA‐PEG‐BUFII nanobioconjugates as an advanced plasmid delivery system in bacteria. These nanobioconjugates demonstrated superior efficiency compared to traditional methods in four challenging applications: (i) genomic editing in Gram‐positive bacteria; (ii)
