Structure-function analysis of plant fructosyltransferases [PDF]
Fructans are an important class of plant carbohydrates that consist of linear or branched chains of fructosyl moieties. Their synthesis requires fructosyltransferases (FTs) that catalyze the transfer of fructosyl units from a donor substrate (sucrose ...

Carbohydrate-Active Enzymes from Alkaliphiles
The market in industrial enzymes for detergents, starch, food, fabric, and so on has been estimated at more than 1600 million US dollars in 1999. The usage of detergent enzymes, such as protease, cellulase, aamylase, and lipase, forms 35% of the world market.

Generation of a Library of Carbohydrate-Active Enzymes for Plant Biomass Deconstruction
In nature, the deconstruction of plant carbohydrates is carried out by carbohydrate-active enzymes (CAZymes). A high-throughput (HTP) strategy was used to isolate and clone 1476 genes obtained from a diverse library of recombinant CAZymes covering a variety of sequence-based families, enzyme classes, and source organisms.

Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Adaptive changes in enzyme activity and metabolic pathways in adipose tissue from meal-fed rats
A number of metabolic factors and the activity of a number of enzymes were determined in meal-fed (animals fed a single daily 2 hr meal) and nibbling (ad libitum-fed) rats.
