Primary Adenocarcinoma of the Ureter Producing Carbohydrate Antigen 19-9

The Journal of Urology, 1996
A 62-year-old man was hospitalized with a history of intermittent hematuria. Excretory urography showed a delayed left nephrogram. Although cytological evaluation of urine indicated transitional cell carcinoma, cystoscopy revealed no visible tumor. Retrograde pyelography on the left side demonstrated a 1.5 cm.

THE CORRELATION OF SERUM CARBOHYDRATE ANTIGEN 19-9 WITH BENIGN HYDRONEPHROSIS

Journal of Urology, 2002
High serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9 in patients with hydronephrosis but without malignant disease is reportedly rare but to our knowledge the clinical features of hydronephrosis that affect this level have not yet been clarified. We examined the correlation of serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9 with hydronephrosis status in patients with benign ...

Carbohydrate Antigen 19‐9 in Saliva

Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, 2011
ObjectiveFacial nerve preservation and oncological safety are crucial in surgery of parotid tumors. An unexpected histopathologic diagnosis of a malignant parotid tumor, however, may unfavorably require a second, more radical surgery. The aim of this study was to find out whether the assessment of serological tumor markers in parotid saliva might have ...

Primary thymic adenocarcinoma with production of carbohydrate antigen 19-9 and carcinoembryonic antigen

The Japanese Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 2004
A 59-year-old male, whose chest X-ray showed an abnormal shadow, visited us for further study. Laboratory examination showed the elevated level for both carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) in serum, and the chest X-ray and computed tomography showed an anterior mediastinal mass.

URACHAL CARCINOMA ASSOCIATED WITH INCREASED CARBOHYDRATE ANTIGEN 19-9 AND CARCINOEMBRYONIC ANTIGEN

Journal of Urology, 2001
A 41-year-old woman presented with intermittent gross hematuria in January 2000. Cystoscopic examination revealed a thumb tip sized, nonpapillary sessile tumor on the bladder dome. Diagnosis was adenocarcinoma, which was confirmed by transurethral tumor biopsy. Serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9 was 53 units per ml.

Papillary Adenocarcinoma of the Ureter Producing Carcinoembryonic Antigen and Carbohydrate Antigen 19-9

Journal of Urology, 2002
CASE REPORT A 69-year-old Japanese woman presented with a history of right lower abdominal pain. Computerized tomography of the pelvis showed a lesion at the distal end of the right ureter protruding into the bladder. No masses were identified in the liver, pancreas, common bile duct or gallbladder.

Relationship of carbohydrate antigen 19-9 and Lewis antigens in pancreatic cancer.

Cancer research, 1987
Carbohydrate antigen (CA) 19-9 identified by a murine monoclonal antibody against a colorectal carcinoma antigen is thought to be a sialylated Lewis (Le)a blood group antigen and occurs in high concentration in serum of patients with pancreatic carcinoma.

Carbohydrate Antigen CA 19-9

1995
This tumour-associated antigen is a high molecular weight mucin epitope expression is defined by a homologous monoclonal antibody system — the CA 19-9 antibody The antigenic epitope represents a sialylated Lewisa blood group pentasaccharide and, as such, is similar to that detected by some other monocloncal antibody systems.

A clinical evaluation of carbohydrate antigen 19‐9 and carcinoembryonic antigen in patients with pancreatic carcinoma

Journal of Surgical Oncology, 1985
AbstractWe have studied serum carbohydrate antigen 19‐9 (CA19‐9) and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) in 221 persons to assess their usefulness in the diagnosis of pancreatic carcinoma. Although serum CA19‐9 and CEA in all healthy controls were within normal limits, the positive ratings of serum CA19‐9 and CEA in all benign disease were 9.8% and 18.1 ...

Cancer antigen 125, carcinoembryonic antigen, and carbohydrate determinant 19-9 in ovarian tumors

Cancer, 1990
The authors studied data of combination assays of tumor markers, because simultaneous elevation of different types of tumor markers in the serum was puzzling. They interpreted such phenomena regarding cancer antigen 125, carcinoembryonic antigen, and carbohydrate determinant 19-9 in ovarian tumors.
