Alpha-fetoprotein, carcinoembryonic antigen, and carbohydrate antigen 19-9-producing gallbladder cancer

Journal of Gastroenterology, 1996
We report a rare case of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), and carbohydrate antigen (CA) 19-9-producing gallbladder cancer with high levels of CA125 and protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist II (PIVKA II). A 63-year-old man was diagnosed with gallbladder cancer with metastases to the liver, based on ultrasonography ...

Giant hamartoma of the lung with a high production of carbohydrate antigen 19-9

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1993
A rare case of a giant pulmonary hamartoma with a high production of carbohydrate antigen (CA) 19-9 is presented. A 43-year-old woman with complaints of cough, fever, and chest pain was diagnosed as having a posterior mediastinal tumor with pneumonia. The serum CA 19-9 level was high.

Concentration and Localization of Carbohydrate Antigen 19–9 in Tissues of Pancreatic Cancer

Oncology, 1988
Carbohydrate antigen (CA) 19-9 concentration in the tissue-extracts of cancerous and noncancerous pancreatic tissues were determined by radioimmunoassay. Pancreatic cancer tissues revealed significantly elevated CA 19-9 concentrations, when compared with chronic pancreatitis, normal adult pancreas, or fetal pancreas tissues.

[Carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9) and carcinoembryonic antigen in gastrointestinal neoplasms. Comparison of markers].

Acta bio-medica de L'Ateneo parmense : organo della Societa di medicina e scienze naturali di Parma, 1986
CA 19-9, a new antigenic tumor marker for gastrointestinal tumors, has been assayed with Carcinoembriogenic antigen, in 90 healthy patients and 47 patients with gastric cancer (20) and colorectal cancer (27). A good specificity has been found for this antigen (97.7%). Its sensibility seems to be slightly superior to that of CEA. However the sensibility

ZnO quantum dot labeled immunosensor for carbohydrate antigen 19-9

Biosensors and Bioelectronics, 2011
Using ZnO quantum dots as electrochemical and fluorescent labels, a sandwich-type sensitive immunoassay was developed to detect carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9) which is a preferred label for pancreatic cancer. The immobilization process was mainly carried out through the electrostatic adsorption based on the high isoelectric point of ZnO, and the ...

Adenocarcinoma of the ileum producing carbohydrate antigen 19-9: Report of a case

Surgery Today, 2000
We report herein the case of an 81-year-old woman found to have small intestinal carcinoma producing carbohydrate antigen (CA)19-9, in whom recurrence on the abdominal wall was strongly suspected 4 months after resection. She presented to our hospital with acute abdominal pain with severe anemia. Marked serum elevation of CA19-9 to 164.8 U/ml suggested

Subcarinal bronchogenic cyst with high carbohydrate antigen 19-9 production

The Japanese Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 2002
In a rare case of bronchogenic cyst with high carbohydrate antigen (CA) 19-9 production, a 57-year-old man with coughing and chest pain was diagnosed with a subcarinal mediastinal tumor. Fiberoptic bronchoscopy showed an erosive mucosal lesion overlying the area of extrinsic compression at the membranous of the right mainstem bronchus.
