Metastatic prostate cancer with elevated serum levels of CEA and CA19-9

open access: yesUrological Science, 2014
Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is well known as a specific tumor marker for prostate cancer, but carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA)- and carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9)-elevating adenocarcinomas originating in the prostate gland are rare.

CA19-9 and apolipoprotein-A2 isoforms as detection markers for pancreatic cancer: a prospective evaluation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Recently, we identified unique processing patterns of apolipoprotein A2 (ApoA2) in patients with pancreatic cancer. Our study provides a first prospective evaluation of an ApoA2 isoform ("ApoA2-ATQ/AT"), alone and in combination with carbohydrate antigen

Perioperative and Oncological Outcomes of Colorectal Cancer Surgery in Obese Patients: A Multicenter Retrospective Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, Volume 10, Issue 3, Page 748-759, May 2026.
The prognostic value of the log odds of positive lymph nodes (LODDS) across BMI categories was investigated in patients undergoing colorectal cancer resection. The exploratory evidence demonstrates that LODDS serves as a strong prognostic marker, and its adverse effect may be more pronounced in patients with higher BMI.

Single-cell RNA sequencing reveals the process of CA19-9 production and dynamics of the immune microenvironment between CA19-9 (+) and CA19-9 (−) PDAC

open access: yesChinese Medical Journal
. Background:. Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is one of the main types of malignant tumor of the digestive system, and patient prognosis is affected by difficulties in early diagnosis, poor treatment response, and a high postoperative ...

Prognostic Value of Psoas Major Muscle Volume in Assessing Sarcopenia in Elderly Patients With Rectal Cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, Volume 10, Issue 3, Page 770-778, May 2026.
This study investigates the prognostic utility of a novel volumetric indicator—psoas volume index (PVI)—for assessing sarcopenia in elderly rectal cancer patients. Sarcopenia classified by our proposed PVI cut‐off values was associated with poor nutritional and inflammatory status, and patients with low PVI showed significantly worse long‐term outcomes.

Novel biomarkers and endoscopic techniques for diagnosing pancreaticobiliary malignancy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The UK incidence of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma is 9 per 100,000 population, and biliary tract cancer occurs at a rate of 1-2 per 100,000. The incidence of both cancers is increasing annually and these tumours continue to be diagnosed late and at an

Efficacy of Hepatic Artery Infusion Chemotherapy Combined With Regorafenib and Sintilimab Versus Regorafenib Alone in MSS/pMMR Colorectal Cancer Liver Metastases After Second‐Line Treatment Failure

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Microsatellite stable/proficient mismatch repair (MSS/pMMR) colorectal cancer liver metastases (CRCLM) have limited treatment options after failure of second‐line systemic therapies. Hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) combined with targeted therapy and immunotherapy may offer improved outcomes.

CA19-9 as a predictor of tumor response and survival in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer treated with gemcitabine based chemotherapy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The aim of this study was to determine the predictive role of pretreatment carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) measurement and its change after one cycle of gemcitabine-based therapy for response, time to progression (TTP) and overall survival (OS ...

Intratumoral Proton Density Fat Fraction Predicts the Outcome of HAIC Combined With PD‐1 Inhibitors in Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims This study aimed to explore the predictive value of intratumoral proton density fat fraction (PDFF) and the clinical efficacy of hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) combined with anti‐programmed cell death protein 1 (anti‐PD‐1) therapy in advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Postoperative CEA is a better prognostic marker than CA19-9, hCGβ or TATI after resection of colorectal liver metastases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
