Phase IIb Trial for the Palliative Treatment of Patients With Primary Hepatic Malignancy Unable to Receive Curative Treatment: Efficacy of Colchicine

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, Volume 42, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This trial was to evaluate the efficacy and the safety of colchicine for the palliative treatment of patients with primary hepatic malignancy unable to receive curative treatment. Forty hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients and two intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) patients signed the informed consents.

Interplay of RNA m6A/m1A/m5C/m7G/ψ Regulators Predicting the Prognosis of Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesFASEB BioAdvances, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
In this study, we comprehensively analyze the 64 RNA modification regulators, including 24 m6A regulators, 13 m1A regulators, 12 m5C regulators, 9 m7G regulators, and 12 pseudouridine regulators in pancreatic cancer in TCGA, GTEx, and HPA databases. We investigate their RNA and protein expression, their association with patients' clinical significance,

Discovery of Serotransferrin Glycoforms: Novel Markers for Diagnosis of Liver Periductal Fibrosis and Prediction of Cholangiocarcinoma. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) caused by chronic liver fluke infection is a major public health problem in Northeast Thailand. Identification of CCA risk groups is urgently needed for the control of CCA in this region.

Single‐Cell Analysis Identified a Recurrent Malignant‐Associated Transcriptional State in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 5, Page 1397-1411, May 2026.
Colorectal cancer (CRC) shows high molecular heterogeneity, yet single‐cell data from Japanese patients are limited. We performed scRNA‐seq on tumors and adjacent normal tissues from four Japanese CRC patients and identified a shared malignant cell cluster with high KCNQ1OT1 expression and reduced RASSF6 levels.

Diagnostic and prognostic value of CEA, CA19–9, AFP and CA125 for early gastric cancer

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2017
Background The diagnostic and prognostic significance of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate associated antigen 19–9 (CA19–9), alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and cancer antigen 125 (CA125) in early gastric cancer have not been investigated yet.

Effects of olive oil on osteoporosis after artificial menopause [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015

A case of intralobar pulmonary sequestration with high serum CA19-9 levels. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
A 38-year-old female presented with cough and fever. A chest X-ray examination revealed an abnormal shadow in the posteroinferior portion of the left hemithorax, and a laboratory examination showed that the serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) level ...

Cholangiolocellular Component Predicts a Biologically Distinct Subgroup of Mass‐Forming Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 5, Page 1510-1523, May 2026.
We identified two distinct molecular subgroups of mass‐forming intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (MF‐iCCA) based on the presence of a histological cholangiolocellular carcinoma (CLC) component. The CLC‐related molecular subgroup showed better prognosis and highly angiogenic features, as confirmed by both genetic analysis and morphological observation ...

CA19‑9 is a significant prognostic factor in stage III gastric cancer patients undergoing radical gastrectomy

open access: yesBMC Surgery
Background Due to the great heterogeneity of gastric cancer (GC), the prognosis of patients within a stage is very different. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the high risk factors for postoperative recurrence and metastasis and take appropriate ...

CA 19-9 and CEA Expression in Mucinous and Non-Mucinous Colorectal Carcinoma and the Impact on Prognosis and Clinicopathological Features

open access: yesSVU - International Journal of Medical Sciences
Background: One of the most prevalent cancers in the world and a major contributor to cancer-related mortality is colorectal cancer (CRC). Carbohydrate antigen CA 19-9 and Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) are adhesion molecules that play a role in cancer ...
