Biological and Mechanical Limitations for Chronic Fast‐Scan Cyclic Voltammetry Sensor Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Real‐time detection of neurochemicals has demonstrated value in the field of neuroscience. However, current methods have limitations for use in the chronic setting, which is often the ideal environment for research. This article discusses these limitations, as well as technologies that have been developed to overcome them, and provides recommendations ...

The Impact of Channel Geometry and Flow Regime on Endothelial Orientation and Morphology in Vessel‐on‐Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study explores how channel geometry and flow conditions affect blood and lymphatic endothelial cell (EC) orientation and morphology in vessel‐on‐chip (VoC) models. Application of various flow conditions results in very different cell morphology in channels with circular and rectangular cross‐section.

On the Relentless Pursuit of an Oral Insulin Delivery System: How Far is Too Far?

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Injectable insulin preparations have far outpaced oral ones by virtue of adequate bioavailability and are driven by innovations, including insulin pumps, real‐time blood glucose monitoring, and artificial intelligence. In contrast, oral insulin delivery systems, including nanomedicines, continue to struggle and lag due to varied reasons.

Adenosine Monophosphate Improves Lipolysis in Obese Mice by Reducing DNA Methylation via ADORA2A Activation by Ecto‐5′‐Nucleotidase (CD73)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, the improvement effect of AMP on obesity can be attributed to the conversion of extracellular AMP to ADO through ADORA2A activation by CD73, which can promote lipolysis by reducing DNA methylation level and enhancing HSL gene transcription. These findings show the great potential of AMP in improving obesity.

Lycium barbarum Glycopeptide Alleviates Neomycin‐Induced Ototoxicity by Inhibiting Tryptophan Hydroxylase‐Mediated Serotonin Biosynthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lycium barbarum glycopeptide (LBGP), which is further extracted from Lycium barbarum polysaccharides, exhibits significant protective effects against neomycin‐induced hearing dysfunction including oxidative stress in cochlea and loss of key cells in cochlea.
