Carbohydrate microarrays

open access: yesChem. Soc. Rev., 2013
In the last decade, carbohydrate microarrays have been core technologies for analyzing carbohydrate-mediated recognition events in a high-throughput fashion. A number of methods have been exploited for immobilizing glycans on the solid surface in a microarray format.

Orange-Juice and Grapefruit-Juice Contributions to Nutrient Intakes by Americans [PDF]

open access: yes
The NHANES 2003-04 data show that OJ and GJ users drank less than an 8-ounce serving per day in the two-day recalls and about 30% of the Americans drank OJ in the two-day recalls – ranked sixth.

Development of a Novel Processing Route for Dispersoid/Precipitation‐Strengthened High Conductive Copper Alloys by Using Metalized Nanoceramics in Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores a process chain to produce dispersoid‐strengthened CuCr1Zr for applications requiring high strength and conductivity. Using gas‐atomized powder and copper‐plated alumina nanoparticles, additive manufacturing is performed via powder bed based additive manufacturing with green and red lasers, followed by heat treatment.

Rheological Characteristics of Composite Flour with Linseed Fibre - Relationship to Bread Quality

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2017
Linseed fibre represents a rich natural source of dietary fibre. Here, we report that the addition of linseed fibre at levels of 2.5 and 5.0% changes the viscosity of wheat flour as well as the rheological properties of non-fermented and fermented dough.

Strong enhancement of critical current density in MgB2 superconductor using carbohydrate doping [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
With the relatively high critical temperature (Tc) of 39 K1 and the high critical current density (Jc) of > 100000 A/cm2 in moderate fields, magnesium diboride (MgB2) superconductors could offer the promise of important large-scale and electronic device applications to be operated at 20 K.

Effect of Chia and Teff Supplement on Dietary Fibre Content, Non‑fermented Dough and Bread Characteristics from Wheat and Wheat‑Barley Flours

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2017
To elevate dietary fibre content in wheat bread, two additions of barley flour were tested (30 % and 50 %), and further 5 % or 10 % of chia or teff wholemeals.
