Konjac Glucomannan Oligosaccharides (KGMOS) Confers Innate Immunity against Phytophthora nicotianae in Tobacco

open access: yesAgriculture
In this study, KGMOS (DP, 2-13), derived from KGM (Konjac glucomannan), was applied to elucidate plant immunity in a Nicotiana benthamiana Phytophthora nicotianae model. Application of KGMOS (25–100 mg/L) notably inhibited P.

Characterisation of flaxseed cultivars based on NIR diffusion reflectance spectra of whole seeds and derived samples

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2019
Discrimination of yellow and brown flaxseed cultivars was made based on diffusion reflectance FT-NIR spectra of whole seeds. The spectra of flaxseed kernels, hulls, defatted flours, and oils were also measured for comparison.

Improvement of Critical Current Density and Upper Critical Field in MgB2 using Carbohydrate [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
We evaluated the doping effects of carbohydrate (malic acid, C4H6O5), from 0wt% to 30wt% of total MgB2, on the phase, lattice parameters, critical temperature, resistivity, and upper critical field of MgB2 superconductor. The lattice parameters calculated show a large decrease in the a-axis for MgB2 + C4H6O5 samples, but no change in the c-axis.

Intestinal absorption by Sarotherodon galilaeus (syn Tilapia galilaea ) of Lake Kainji, Nigeria [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
Carbohydrates, protein, lipid and crude fibre were found to reduce in amount from the anterior to posterior regions along the gut of Sarotherodon galilaeus collected from Lake Kainji. Different regions of the gut exhibited different absorptive powers and

Lattice paramenter, lattice disorder and resistivity of carbohydrate doepd MgB2 and their correlation with the transition temperature [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2009
The change in the lattice parameters or the lattice disorder is claimed as a cause of the slight reduction in the transition temperature by carbon doping in MgB2. In this work, an extensive investigation on the effects of carbohydrate doping has been carried out.
