Carbon-11 Amino Acids, Labeling and Metabolites

1993
The preparation methods available for 11C-amino acids and the different aspects of the value of these amino acids for measuring the protein synthesis rate in vivo are discussed.

The use of carbon 11 dioxide for skeletal scintigraphy

The British Journal of Radiology, 1970
There is now much evidence to show that scintigraphy is more accurate than radiology for the detection of skeletal metastases (Galasko, Westerman, Li, Sellwood and Burn, 1968; Galasko, 1969a). Opinions differ, however, as to the choice of the isotope. 47Ca, 85Sr, 87Srm and 18F have been the isotopes most commonly used.

Simple production of [1-carbon-11]acetate.

Journal of nuclear medicine : official publication, Society of Nuclear Medicine, 1996
We report an attractive approach for the preparation of [1-11C]acetate.The procedure involved the instantaneous hydrolysis of [1-11C]acetyl chloride back to [1-11C]acetic acid by simply trapping the volatile acid chloride in physiological saline. This delivered [1-11C]acetate immediately in pharmaceutical quality. An easy and quantitative gas phase ...

Kinetic Modelling of Carbon-11 Labelled Methionine

1993
A three parameter compartment model is usually accepted to be adequate for describing the transport of 11C-L-methionine across biological membranes. This is found to be true also in the placenta transport of the rhesus monkey. The placenta is an excellent experimental model since one can inject and sample on both sides of the membrane.

Myocardial metabolic imaging with carbon-11-acetate

1992
The noninvasive quantification of regional myocardial oxygen consumption has long been an objective of cardiovascular research. It’s potential utility lies primarily in the assessment of patients with ischemic heart disease where the delineation of viable myocardium is essential in determining which patients may benefit from percutaneous transluminal ...
