Assessment of Metabolites in Noni Fruit Slurry Fermented With Four Non‐Saccharomyces Yeasts

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 2, March 2026.
Dried noni fruit slurry (DNFS) was fermented for 14 days with selected non‐Saccharomyces yeasts. GCMS, HPLC and amino acid analysis showed that Pichia kluyveri Frootzen and Williopsis saturnus NCYC22 grew well, reduced off‐flavor fatty acids, generated fruity aroma compounds and preserved total phenolic content. ABSTRACT Noni products often suffer from

Aging‐Derived Alterations in Genomic, Immune, and Metabolic Networks: Implications for Cancer Development and Therapy

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
Ageing acts as a double‐edged sword in cancer. In the elderly, open chromatin, immunosenescence, and chronic inflammation drive SASP (IL‐6, MMPs), MDSC accumulation and T‐cell suppression, fostering tumor‐promoting microenvironments and limited therapeutic benefit.

Distinct contributions of O‐acetylserine sulfhydrylases to cysteine biosynthesis in Pseudomonas aeruginosa

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Cysteine biosynthesis in bacteria proceeds primarily via the de novo pathway, involving serine acetyltransferase (CysE) and O‐acetylserine sulfhydrylase (OASS). This pathway is absent in humans, and its inhibition impairs microbial fitness, virulence, and antibiotic resistance, making its enzymes attractive antimicrobial targets. Most bacteria

QTL Mapping Combined With Transcriptome Analysis to Identify Candidate Genes for Silique Number in Rapeseed

open access: yesJournal of Sustainable Agriculture and Environment, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Silique number is an important yield trait in rapeseed. Identifying the genetic loci and analyzing the molecular mechanism of this trait are of great significance for increasing rapeseed yield. In this study, we conducted a quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis for silique number using a recombinant inbred line (RIL) population, and detected ...

Dynamic nature of proteins : interpretation of residual dipolar couplings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Protein conformations and dynamics can be studied by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy using dilute liquid crystalline samples. This work clarifies the interpretation of residual dipolar coupling data yielded by the experiments.

Shade‐induced transcriptional reprogramming and metabolic adaptation in contrasting soybean genotypes

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 19, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract Shade stress affects soybean yield in intercropping, but the molecular basis of cultivar‐specific tolerance is unclear. We analyzed shade‐tolerant (Guru) and sensitive (Heinong 53) soybeans under 30% and 70% shade using transcriptomic, physiological, and biochemical methods.

Genome‐wide association study identifies consistent genomic loci for yield and nutritional quality in Ethiopian sorghum landraces

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 19, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract Identifying genomic regions linked to yield and quality is crucial for sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.) improvement, but limited studies on its genome and diversity hinder breeding efforts. This study aimed to identify phenotypic variance and common quantitative trait nucleotides (QTNs) associated with genomic regions linked with grain yield and ...
