Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Responses of soil detachment capacity to different rock dip angles in karst trough valley
The karst region is distinguished by pronounced and complex soil erosion, while the bedrock strata dip and root traits significantly influence the erosion slope, thereby altering the hydrodynamic characteristics and impacting Dc.

The significance of organic carbon and nutrient export from peatland-dominated landscapes subject to disturbance, a stoichiometric perspective [PDF]
The terrestrial-aquatic interface is a crucial environment in which to consider the fate of exported terrestrial carbon in the aquatic system. Here the fate of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) may be controlled by nutrient availability.

This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Sensitivity Analysis of Carbonate Looping Process Using Twin Fluidized Bed Model
CO2 as the major greenhouse gas plays an important role in environmental problems. Therefore, it is reasonable to find an effective technology for mitigating large CO2 emissions.

An evaluation of the economic benefits of active cooling and carbon dioxide enrichment of greenhouse cucumbers (Cucumis sativus L.) : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Horticultural Science at Massey University [PDF]
Cooling a greenhouse with a refrigeration system rather than conventional ventilation makes it possible to maximise the fractional enrichment time for carbon dioxide, and more importantly enrich during periods of high photosynthetically active radiation.
