Abstract Ground granulated blast‐furnace slag (GGBS) is a widely used clinker substitute in concrete, recognized for its potential to significantly reduce environmental impacts. However, its application in prestressed concrete remains limited in several countries, mainly due to concerns regarding early‐age mechanical performance and long‐term ...

Activated carbon paste electrodes for biosensors
Analytical Chemistry, 1994A reagentless amperometric glucose biosensor was constructed using glucose oxidase and hydroquinone (H2Q) coimmobilized in carbon paste. The sensor response was studied by amperometry and cyclic voltammetry in quiescent solutions, as well as in a flow injection apparatus.

Detection of homocysteine at carbon nanotube paste electrodes
Talanta, 2004The use of a carbon-nanotube paste (CNTP) electrode provides an effective means for the determination of homocysteine. A decrease of ca. 120mV in the overpotential for the oxidation of homocysteine compared to a traditional carbon paste electrode, is reported along with greatly enhanced signal-to-noise characteristics.

Electrochemical response of oligonucleotides on carbon paste electrode
Bioelectrochemistry, 2007Electrochemical response of synthetic oligonucleotides with different DNA bases sequences was investigated to find relationships between a chain composition and a signal. All DNA mononucleotides present electroactivity at a carbon paste electrode yielding anodic peaks at potentials: 1.00 (GMP), 1.28 (AMP), 1.47 (TMP) and 1.53 V (CMP).

Voltammetric determination of azithromycin at the carbon paste electrode
Talanta, 2004Azithromycin (AZ) is the first member of a class of macrolide azalides antibiotics called azolides. A simple and selective square-wave voltammetric (SWV) method has been developed for the determination of azithromycin in pure form, in pharmaceutical preparation and in biological samples.

Acid Stability of Carbon Paste Enzyme Electrodes
Analytical Chemistry, 2006This note reports on the unusual protection of several enzymes against harsh pH conditions provided by carbon paste electrodes. Both glucose oxidase and polyphenol oxidase carbon paste amperometric biosensors display a remarkable resistance to acid deactivation compared to conventional biosensors prepared by electropolymeric entrapment of enzymes.

The effect of two types of carbon pastes and two osmium-based redox mediators on the response of amperometric enzyme electrodes for glucose was examined. A hydrophobic mediator and a hydrophilic cationic mediator were prepared and mixed in a paste that contained either mineral oil as the pasting liquid, or a polycationic electrolyte without oil. It was

Electrochemical behavior of iproplatin at the carbon paste electrode
Electroanalysis, 1989AbstractThe electrochemical redox behavior of iproplatin (JM9) was investigated at the carbon paste electrode using cyclic voltammetry in the absence and presence of free chloride ions. In the absence of chloride, a diffusion‐controlled, two‐electron reduction peak (Epc1) is observed, giving a platinum(II) derivative that is oxidized to a Pt(IV ...
