Segregation of Carbon Paste in a Smelting Electrode [PDF]

open access: yesIMA Journal of Applied Mathematics, 1989
Summary: An industrial problem concerning segregation in carbon paste is described. Billets of paste, which are a mixture of coke and pitch, are fed into a steel tube in a furnace, and the tube is lowered at a rate of about 0.75 m \(day^{-1}\). In the tube, the pitch is deformable, and the paste is essentially a very viscous two-phase particulate ...

Carbon nanotubes paste electrode

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2003
Abstract The performance of carbon nanotubes paste electrodes (CNTPE) prepared by dispersion of multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNT) within mineral oil is described. The resulting electrode shows an excellent electrocatalytic activity toward ascorbic acid, uric acid, dopamine, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (dopac) and hydrogen peroxide.

Separation of Ascorbic Acid, Dopamine and Uric Acid by Acetone/Water Modified Carbon Paste Electrode: A Cyclic Voltammetric Study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2009
The carbon paste (CPE) was prepared by grinding the mixture of graphite powder and silicone oil ratio 70:30 respectively. The acetone/water modified carbon paste electrode was developed by immobilizing the different ratios of acetone/water.

Perspectives of Carbon Paste Electrodes in Stripping Potentiometry

open access: yesAnalytical Sciences, 2002
The testing of various types of carbon paste electrodes (CPEs) for their use in stripping potentiometry was carried out by means of specially proposed procedures and by using various model analyte systems. CPEs containing three different pasting liquids (paraffin oil, silicone oil, tricresyl phosphate) were tested as supports for mercury- and gold ...

Glassy carbon paste electrodes

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2001
A new carbon composite electrode material, based on mixing glassy carbon (GC) microparticles with an organic pasting liquid is described. The resulting glassy carbon paste electrode (GCPE) combines the electrochemical properties of GC with the various advantages of composite electrodes. Glassy carbon pastes (GCPs) offer high electrochemical reactivity,
