Dialkyl carbonates: scale-up synthesis and application as green solvents for PVDF membranes preparation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Dialkyl carbonates (DACs) are well-known green solvents and reagents that have been extensively investigated as safe alternatives to chlorine-based compounds.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

EXAMINATION OF THERMAL PROPERTIES OF CARBON-CARBON AND GRAPHATIZED CARBON-CARBON COMPOSITES

open access: yesFrontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, 2013
Thermal characterization is essential to the proper assignment of composites to specific applications. Specific heat, thermal diffusivity, and thermal conductivity are critical in the engineering design process and in the analysis of aerospace vehicles, space systems, power generation, transportation systems, and energy storage devices including fuel ...

Using iron speciation in authigenic carbonates from hydrocarbon seeps to trace variable redox conditions

open access: yes, 2015
Seepage of hydrocarbon-rich fluids out of the marine sedimentary column is characterized by temporal changes of flow intensity and resultant spatially variable redox conditions.

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Quantitative characterization of the carbonate rock microstructure considering topological features: a case study from the Gaoshiti–Moxi block of the Sichuan Basin

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The precise characterization of the rock microstructure is crucial for predicting the physical characteristics, flow behavior, and mechanical properties of rocks.

Experimental Approach to the Direct Interaction Between the H2O-CO2 Atmosphere and the Crust on the Earliest Earth: Implications for the Early Evolution of Minerals and the Proto-Atmosphere

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2018
Batch experiments between solid materials including komatiite, peridotite and basalt with an H2O-CO2 atmosphere were performed at temperatures from 200°C to 500°C to simulate the interaction between the new rocky crust formed after the magma ocean stage ...

Diagenetic evolution of some modern and ancient cold seep-carbonates from East Coast Basin, New Zealand.

open access: yes, 2009
Cold seep-carbonates are the microbially mediated by-products of the anaerobic oxidation of methane (AOM) at seafloor cold seeps, and are widespread about modern continental margins and in the geologic record.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Characteristics, distribution and diagenetic stages of chert in the La Silla Formation (Lower Ordovician), Argentine Precordillera

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências, 2009
The late Cambrian - late Tremadocian La Silla Formation is a carbonate unit of the eastern Precordillera in Argentina whose facies indicate a shallow platform environment. Until this moment, there were no studies that referred to the diagenetic evolution
