Some Studies in the Chemistry of Substituted Azetinone and Pyrroloindole-Carboxylic Acids [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
This thesis is concerned with the chemistry of azetidinone carboxylic acids and pyrrolodine carboxylic acids and their derivatives. As such, the introduction surveys the general field of β-lactam biochemistry, the more specific area of carbapenem ...

Ab initio study of the mechanism of carboxylic acids cross-ketonization on monoclinic zirconia via condensation to beta-keto acids followed by decarboxylation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Catalytic mechanism of acetic and isobutyric acids mixture conversion into two symmetrical and one cross-ketone product on monoclinic zirconia (111) surface was extensively modeled by Density Functional Theory for periodic structures.

A Novel Protein‐Polysaccharide Oral Nanoemulsion Targeting Activated Hepatic Stellate Cells to Enhance the Therapeutic Effect of Pirfenidone on Fibrosis After Transarterial Chemoembolization for Liver Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transarterial Chemoembolization (TACE) may aggravate liver fibrosis. In this study, a novel oral targeting nanoemulsion is fabricated to enhance the therapeutic effect of antifibrotic drug‐pirfenidone (PFD) on fibrosis after TACE. Studies have shown that PFD nanoemulsion can enhance the oral liver targeting effect of PFD, and effectively improve the ...

Precision 4D Printing of Multifunctional Olive Oil‐Based Acrylate Photo‐resin for Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 13, March 25, 2025.
This work offers an olive oil‐based acrylate photoresin for solvent‐free, precision 4D printing of sustainable polymers. The physicochemical properties of the printed materials can be fine‐tuned by incorporation of a diluent cum comonomer acrylic acid. The resulting polymers exhibit mechanical properties similar to soft collagenous bone.

Thioglycolic acid on the gold (111) surface and Raman vibrational spectra [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The interaction of thioglycolic acid with the Au(111) surface is investigaged, and it is found that at the low coverage the molecule lies down on the substrate. If the mercaptan-hydrogen atom is eliminated, the resulting SCH_2COOH molecule is randomly oriented on the surface.

Direct Ink Writing of Conductive Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines the use of direct ink writing (DIW) for fabricating conductive hydrogels with customizable 3D structures. It outlines the rheological requirements for successful DIW, followed by an exploration of the materials and ink formulations used to impart electronic and/or ionic conductivity to hydrogels while maintaining printability ...

Hydration and Intermolecular Interactions in Carboxylic Acids

open access: yesКонденсированные среды и межфазные границы, 2020
At the moment, the most accurate and reliable information about intermolecular interactions in low-molecular compounds and their polymer analogues can be obtained by means of combined UV, visible, and IR spectroscopy.

Theoretical description of mixed film formation at the air/water interface : carboxylic acids–fatty amines

open access: yes, 2020
Thermodynamic parameters of mixed monolayer formation of aliphatic amines CnH2n+1NH2 and carboxylic acids CnH2n+1COOH (n = 6–16) are calculated using the quantum chemical semiempirical PM3 method.

Cross-Selectivity in the Catalytic Ketonization of Carboxylic Acids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A mixture of acetic and 2-methylpropanoic (isobutyric) acids representing non-branched and branched acids, respectively, was catalytically converted to a mixture of ketones in a set of statistically designed experiments (DOE).
