Nucleotides as an Anti‐Aging Supplementation in Older Adults: A Randomized Controlled Trial (TALENTs study)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The TALENTs randomized controlled trial evaluates the potential of nucleotides supplementation as an anti‐aging intervention in older adults. After 19 weeks, nucleotides supplementation significantly reduces DNA methylation age, suggesting a delay in epigenetic aging, and improves insulin sensitivity without severe adverse events.

The clinical efficacy of first-generation carcinoembryonic antigen (CEACAM5)-specific CAR T cells is limited by poor persistence and transient pre-conditioning-dependent respiratory toxicity

open access: yesCancer Immunology and Immunotherapy, 2017
The primary aim of this clinical trial was to determine the feasibility of delivering first-generation CAR T cell therapy to patients with advanced, CEACAM5+ malignancy.

A Promising Point‐of‐Care Testing Strategy: Ultrasmooth Gold Nanogroove Arrays Biosensor Combined with Initial Rate Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work reports a nanoplasmonic biosensing platform with exceptional surface sensitivity (0.618 nm nm−1, Δn = 0.117 nmol) and narrow linewidth (≈20 nm) under normal incidence. By integrating a miscellaneous‐protein strategy with initial rate analysis (IRA), this sensor can detect 1 ng mL−1 of AFP in serum with a broad linear range (1–104 ng mL−1 ...

Diagnostic and prognostic value of carcinoembryonic antigen in pancreatic cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesOncoTargets and Therapy, 2017
Background Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is one of the most widely used tumor markers and is increased in 30%–60% of patients with pancreatic cancer. Although carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) is the most important serum biomarker in pancreatic cancer,

Perovskite‐Graphene Heterostructure Biosensor Integrated with Biotunable Nanoplasmonic Ternary Logic Gate for Ultrasensitive Cytokine Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work proposes the first perovskite/graphene heterostructure‐based FET biosensor with uniquely biotunable ternary logic gating functionality for the detection of human IL6 cytokines. The biosensor integrates a lateral perovskite‐on‐graphene heterostructure phototransistor with a vertical bio‐nano‐photonic filter, achieving ultrahigh sensitivity ...

Clinical implications of carcinoembryonic antigen distribution in serum exosomal fraction—Measurement by ELISA

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Background Serum exosomal proteins have great potential as indicators of disease status in cancer, inflammatory or metabolic diseases. The association of a fraction of various serum proteins such as carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) with circulating ...

Plasmonic Molecular Entrapment for Label‐Free Methylated DNA Detection and Machine‐Learning Assisted Quantification

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Plasmonic molecular entrapment (PME) is label‐free detection and quantification method for DNA methylation. This technique provides direct hotspot site generation around target analytes, overcoming mismatch geometrical properties. The PME demonstrates superior SERS performance and quantification capability, offering promising potential for epigenetic ...

The Roles of Carcinoembryonic Antigen in Liver Metastasis and Therapeutic Approaches

open access: yesGastroenterology Research and Practice, 2017
Metastasis is a highly complicated and sequential process in which primary cancer spreads to secondary organic sites. Liver is a well-known metastatic organ from colorectal cancer.

An MOF‐Enhanced Anti‐Fouling Immunoprobe Platform for Efficient Direct Screening of Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces an electrochemical sensing method that employs an innovative platform based on metal‐organic framework (MOF) for detecting biomarkers. The platform integrates an antifouling surface, oriented antibody immobilization, and an enhanced electron transfer layer.
