Greenhouse Fungicide — Environmental Carcinogen?
A simple screening method, in which a bacterial mutant deficient in its ability to repair DNA, was used to detect genetic damage from a widely-used fungicide. The finding strengthens the suspicion that it may be a potent human carcinogen. The unique role

In this retrospective cohort of 3487 patients with CRC, history of CCY was associated with significantly worse prognosis in patients with proximal CRC but not in those with distal CRC. This differential prognostic impact showed a statistically significant interaction between tumor location and history of CCY and remained robust after PSM.

Wortmannin inhibits carcinogen-stimulated phosphorylation of ethanolamine and choline
We have previously reported that in C3H/10T1/2 fibroblasts the environmental carcinogen 7,12-dimethyl-benz[a]anthracene (DMBA) stimulated phosphorylation of ethanolamine (Etn).

Prevention of Carcinogen-Induced Oral Cancer by Sulforaphane [PDF]
Chronic exposure to carcinogens represents the major risk factor for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Beverages derived from broccoli sprout extracts (BSE) that are rich in glucoraphanin and its bioactive metabolite sulforaphane promote ...

Mitigation of arsenic toxicity in rice grain through soil-water-plant continuum
Increased levels of the non-essential hazardous metalloid arsenic (As) in rice grains pose a threat to human health and the sustainability of the rice industry. In several counties, the average As contamination in polished rice has been detected to range

Relevance of Carcinogen-Induced Preclinical Cancer Models
Chemical agents can cause cancer in animals by damaging their DNA, mutating their genes, and modifying their epigenetic signatures. Carcinogen-induced preclinical cancer models are useful for understanding carcinogen-induced human cancers, as they can ...
