In this retrospective cohort of 3487 patients with CRC, history of CCY was associated with significantly worse prognosis in patients with proximal CRC but not in those with distal CRC. This differential prognostic impact showed a statistically significant interaction between tumor location and history of CCY and remained robust after PSM.

In this study, we examined the role of autophagy in the initiation of lipid increases in renal epithelial HK2 cells. We found that trivalent chromium [Cr(III)] induced autophagy by activating sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase 2 (SMPD2).

Rat mammary carcinogenesis following neutron- or X-radiation [PDF]
Female 61 to 63 - day - old Sprague-Dawley rats were exposed once to a single dose of either 0.43 - MeV neutrons or 250 - kVX - rays . For neutrons 23 rats were exposed in plastic tubes rotated around and 31 c m from a water-cooled tritium impregnated ...

Using a multicenter Japanese colorectal cancer cohort from 25 institutions, we analyzed 1464 patients across all disease stages and tumor locations to determine the prevalence and clinicopathological features of MSI‐H/dMMR colorectal cancer. MSI‐H/dMMR tumors accounted for 9.4% of cases overall, were present in 22% of right‐sided colon cancers, and ...

Wavelet-based nonparametric modeling of hierarchical functions in colon carcinogenesis [PDF]
In this article we develop new methods for analyzing the data from an experiment using rodent models to investigate the effect of type of dietary fat on O-6-methylguanine-DNA-methyltransferase (MGMT), an important biomarker in early colon carcinogenesis.
