Evaluation of the level of gamma radiation dose on some immune system parameters against cancer

open access: yesBioscience Journal, 2019
The positive impact of exposure to low-dose gamma irradiation (LDR) on tumor regression and immune response has recently been emphasized. The present study aimed to investigate the T-helper 1 / T-helper 2 (Th1/ Th2) cytokine balance, serum protein ...

Immunization of Mice to Sarcoma 180 and Ehrlich Carcinoma with Ultraviolet-Killed Tumor Vaccine

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1968
SummaryA high level of immunity of long duration was produced in CF1 white Swiss mice against Sarcoma 180 and Ehrlich carcinoma by 3 weekly injections of homologous tumor cells killed by ultraviolet irradiation, at 2537 A. Intraperitoneal route of immunization afforded more protection than the subcutaneous route.

Antitumor activity of two Streptomyces extracts (Ag18 & Ag20) on Ehrlich ascites tumor in mice in vitro and in vivo studies [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bioscience and Applied Research, 2015
This study aimed to evaluate the potent antitumor activity of metabolites from Streptomyces as antitumor activity using in vitro and in vivo studies. The Streptomyces were purely isolated from the soil samples, processed to obtain their extracts.

Synthesis and Antitumor Activity of Doxycycline Polymeric Nanoparticles: Effect on Tumor Apoptosis in Solid Ehrlich Carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Objectives: The aim of this study was to prepare doxycycline polymeric nanoparticles (DOXY-PNPs) with hope to enhance its chemotherapeutic potential against solid Ehrlich carcinoma (SEC). Methods: Three DOXY-PNPs were formulated by nanoprecipitation method using hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) as a polymer.

Citotoxic effects against drug-resistant tumor cells of novel 12h-chromeno[2,3-c]isoquinolin-5-amine derivatives targeting g-quadruplex dna and monoamine oxidases

open access: yes, 2023
About forty 4H-chromene derivatives fused with imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine and isoquinolin-1-amine, synthesized through sequential three-component domino reactions [1,2], were assayed for the affinity to G-rich oligonucleotides with known tumorigenic ...

A nanoplatform that induces dual‐amino acid deprivation to reverse tumor immunosuppression and enhance metabolic immunotherapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
ZIF‐8‐based nanoparticles co‐delivering CB‐839 (glutaminase inhibitor) and 1‐MT (IDO1 inhibitor), dual‐targeting glutamine/tryptophan metabolism to induce immunogenic cell death, activate STING, block kynurenine production, reverse immunosuppression, and enhance cancer immunotherapy to suppress primary/distant tumors.

Muscle wasting in cancer cachexia: Mechanisms and the role of exercise

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Cancer cachexia (CC) is a multifactorial disease marked by a severe and progressive loss of lean muscle mass and characterized further by inflammation and a negative energy/protein balance, ultimately leading to muscle atrophy and loss of muscle tissue.

Outcomes and Surgical Management of Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor of the Kidney: A Report From the Pediatric Surgical Oncology Research Collaborative

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 73, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Malignant rhabdoid tumor of the kidney (MRTK) is a rare, aggressive tumor seen in young children. The optimal timing of resection for locally advanced tumors is not well‐defined. The purpose of this study is to evaluate modern oncologic outcomes and the impact of surgical timing. Methods A multicenter retrospective review was performed
