Schematic illustration of the mechanism of targeted delivery of nanoparticles including 1) paracellular, 2) endolysosomal escape, 3) receptor mediated endocytosis, and 4) M cell mediated transport for non‐GI diseases by oral administration such as atherosclerosis, cancer, diabetes, and brain diseases. Abstract Oral drug delivery is a promising approach

Discovery of new drug therapeutic indications from gene mutation information for hepatocellular carcinoma [PDF]
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary liver malignancy and is a leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide. However, cure is not possible with currently used therapies, and there is not so much approved targeted therapy for HCC despite numerous attempts and clinical trials. So, it is essential to identify additional therapeutic

Modularity of the metabolic gene network as a prognostic biomarker for hepatocellular carcinoma [PDF]
Abnormal metabolism is an emerging hallmark of cancer. Cancer cells utilize both aerobic glycolysis and oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) for energy production and biomass synthesis. Understanding the metabolic reprogramming in cancer can help design therapies to target metabolism and thereby to improve prognosis.

Inserts for standard well plates are produced using vacuum forming, resulting in well‐defined bottom thicknesses down to 50 µm. After opening apertures through the bottom, hydrogels can be cast to similar thicknesses. Introducing HepG2 cells into this very thin hydrogel allows for 3D cell cultures with densities close to in vivo conditions.
