Arrhythmia Detection in Atrioventricular, Single-Lead, Floating Atrial Dipole ICD Systems Compared with Conventional Single- and Dual-Chamber Defibrillators

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Development and Disease
Background: An atrioventricular defibrillator system with a floating atrial dipole (VDD ICD) can provide atrial sensing by a single lead. Our aim was to compare the arrhythmia detection efficacy of VDD ICDs with conventional single- (VVI) and dual ...

From hydrogels to eutectogels: Emerging platforms for stretchable electronics

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
The transition of wearable electronics toward long‐term reliability requires materials that resist dehydration without sacrificing tissue‐like softness and ionic conductivity. Eutectogels fulfill these demands by immobilizing deep eutectic solvents within tailored polymer networks.

Outcomes in patients with cardiac amyloidosis undergoing catheter ablation for atrial arrhythmias

open access: yesHeart Rhythm O2
Background: Cardiac amyloidosis (CA) is characterized by atrial myopathy, which predisposes patients to atrial fibrillation (AF) and other atrial arrhythmias (AA).

The Role and Therapeutic Potential of Voltage‐Gated Potassium Channel Kv1.3 in Metabolism‐Related Disorders

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Over the past three decades, the global burden of common metabolic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and atherosclerosis has steadily increased, becoming a serious public health issue that poses a major threat to human health worldwide. Potassium channels, particularly the voltage‐gated Kv1.3 subtype, serve as critical regulators of cellular

Magnetocardiography combined with machine learning for pulmonary hypertension detection and improved short‐term risk assessment

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Magnetocardiography (MCG) enables non‐invasive mapping of cardiac magnetic fields. In this study, an MCG‐based machine learning model detects pulmonary hypertension with robust performance. Furthermore, MCG features may improve the accuracy of short‐term risk assessment.

Patient and hospitalization differences in incarcerated versus nonincarcerated men: Insights from a 10‐year cohort study

open access: yesJournal of Hospital Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The incarcerated population in the United States is underserved and aging rapidly; there is a dearth of information regarding their health, including hospital care. Epidemiological information is crucial to guide policymakers’ planning.
