Conformable Microelectrode Arrays Integrated with a Scoop‐Shaped Slide‐Well for Dynamic Electrophysiological Profiling of Patient‐Derived Cardiac Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A flexible, ultrathin multi‐channel microelectrode array (MEA) conformally integrated onto a curved slide‐well enables stable electrical interfacing with 3D cardiac organoids. The geometry‐guided self‐alignment allows simultaneous recording of extracellular field potentials and contractile motion from irregular, beating tissues.

Fusion Imaging of Non-Invasive and Invasive Cardiac Electroanatomic Mapping in Patients with Ventricular Ectopic Beats: A Feasibility Analysis in a Case Series

open access: yesDiagnostics
In patients with premature ventricular contractions (PVCs), non-invasive mapping could locate the PVCs’ origin on a personalized 3-dimensional (3D) heart model and, thus, facilitate catheter ablation therapy planning. The aim of our report is to evaluate

Analysis of Outcomes in 8304 Patients Undergoing Lead Extraction for Infection

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2020
Background Patients undergoing lead extraction for infected devices have worse outcomes compared with those with noninfected devices. We assessed predictors of in‐hospital mortality and procedure‐related major adverse events (MAEs) in a large cohort ...

Nigra‐Subthalamic Dopaminergic Circuitry Modulates and Represents Distinct Pain Modality in Physiological and Pain States in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nigral dopaminergic (DA) neurons modulate and represent pain with a preference to a particular modality (mechanical) and laterality (contralateral), which are controlled by nigral GABAergic neurons. The pain modulation is mimicked by the nigro‐subthalamic projection and its downstream neurons, involving D2‐like receptors.

Successful Right Sided Subcutaneous Implantable Cardioverter‐Defibrillator Implantation in Situs Inversus Dextrocardia: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports
This case report details the successful implantation of a subcutaneous implantable cardioverter‐defibrillator (S‐ICD) in a 70‐year‐old male with situs inversus dextrocardia, a rare congenital condition where the heart and visceral organs are reversed ...

Beyond Transconductance: Cell‐Polymer Coupling Determines Fidelity in Action Potential Recording via Electrolyte‐Gated Polymer Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High electrical performance alone does not guarantee efficient bioelectronic signal transduction. Despite excellent mixed ionic‐electronic conduction, recordings from cardiomyocytes reveal that p(g2T‐TT)‐based OECTs predominantly transduce field potential FP‐like signals due to weak cell‐polymer coupling.

PVNCRF Neurons Regulate Migraine‐Like Allodynia by Activating CRFR2 on Spinal Trigeminal Caudalis Glutamatergic Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Paraventricular CRF neurons in the hypothalamus project to glutamatergic neurons of the spinal trigeminal caudal nucleus, enhancing neuronal activation and CRFR2 signaling. This pathway increases CRF release and excitatory drive, promoting central sensitization and migraine‐related behaviors. Targeting the PVN–SP5C circuit provides a potential strategy

LDL-C/HDL-C is associated with ischaemic stroke in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation: a case-control study

open access: yesLipids in Health and Disease, 2020
Background This study explored the relationships between the low−/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (LDL-C/HDL-C) and other clinical indicators and ischaemic stroke (IS) in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) in Xinjiang.

Persistently Increased Expression of PKMzeta and Unbiased Gene Expression Profiles Identify Hippocampal Molecular Traces of a Long‐Term Active Place Avoidance Memory and “Shadow” Proteins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Protein complexes like KIBRA‐PKMζ are crucial for maintaining memories, forming month‐long protein traces in memory‐tagged neurons, but conventional RNA‐seq analysis fails to detect their transcript changes, leaving memory molecules undetected in the shadows of abundantly‐expressed genes.
