Multiscale Architecture and Mechanics of the Cell Nucleus: Implications for Disease, Bioengineering and Nanomedicine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nuclear mechanical properties are inherently scale‐dependent, arising from a hierarchical architecture that spans DNA, chromatin, the nuclear envelope, and condensates. Experimental techniques and theoretical models are integrated into a cohesive multiscale framework linking nanoscale structural features to organelle‐level mechanical behavior.

Light‐Switched Mesenchymal Stem Cells for In Situ Exosome Amplification in Craniofacial Bone Defect Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Light‐switchable MSCs (MSC‐UCNPs) were constructed by intracellular incorporation of UCNPs. Upon 980 nm irradiation, UCNPs emitted localized ultraviolet light (365 nm), activating the ROS/HEXB/LAMP1 signaling pathway to suppress lysosome–multivesicular body fusion and thereby enhance exosome biogenesis. Embedded within an injectable hydrogel, MSC‐UCNPs

The influence of pulmonary insufficiency on ventricular function following total correction of Fallot's tetralogy: evaluation using radionuclide ventriculography and clinical findings

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Pediatrics, 1993
Long-standing pulmonary insufficiency after repair of tetralogy of Fallot may adversely affect ventricular function. We evaluated 20 patients postoperatively by radionuclide ventriculography and clinical findings after total correction of ...

Cardiac Tamponade as the Initial Presentation of Coexistent Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and Addison’s Disease: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Medicine High Impact Case Reports
Cardiac tamponade is a rare presentation of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), occurring in less than 1% of cases. Its coexistence with primary adrenal insufficiency (Addison’s disease) represents an even rarer clinical scenario.

Cardiac myxoma with mitral valve insufficiency: report of three cases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Kardiak miksomalar, kalbin en sık görülen primer tümörleridir. Genellikle sol atriumda bulunduklarından, çoğu kez mitral kapağa doğru prolabe olurlar ve çıkarıldıktan sonra bazen rezidüel miral kapak yetmezliğine neden olabilirler.

Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy Following Cardiac Surgery

open access: yes, 2015
BackgroundTakotsubo cardiomyopathy syndrome, commonly occurring in postmenopausal women, is characterized by transient apical systolic dysfunction in absence of coronary lesions. The cardiomyopathy is often observed after intense stressful events such as

CK2α Deficiency Drives Myocardial Fibrosis via Desmin‐Induced Mitochondrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CK2α preserves mitochondrial homeostasis by phosphorylating Desmin to recruit Cryab, ensuring proper filament assembly. CK2α deficiency disrupts this interaction, causing mitochondrial dysfunction, metabolic shifts, bioenergetic failure, and oxidative stress—ultimately establishing a pro‐fibrotic environment that drives cardiac fibrosis.

Evaluation and treatment of secondary tricuspid insufficiency

open access: yes, 1992
To define the role of functional tricuspid insufficiency and right ventricular (RV) failure in patients with mitral disease, the data of 121 patients with secondary tricuspid insufficiency that underwent mitral valve replacement (MVR) from January 1982 ...
