Probabilistic methods of bypassing the maze using stones and a random number sensor [PDF]
In this paper, some open questions that are posed in Ajans' dissertation continue to be addressed: a robot bypass with a generator of random bits of integer spaces in the presence of a stone and a subspace of flags. This work is devoted to bypassing the maze with a finite state machine with a random bit generator.

Postoperative cardiac adhesions lead to numerous difficulties in reoperation procedures. Here, a thermo‐responsive in situ formed hydrogel is shown to can reliably cover the wounds after a convenient spraying or injection and significantly reduce adhesion formation in primary and recurrent cardiac injury adhesion models.

Abstract Aim Congenital heart disease (CHD) is one of the most common birth defects affecting around 1:100 infants. In this systematic review, we aimed to determine impact of growth on neurodevelopmental outcomes of infants with CHD. Methods Studies that reported association of growth with developmental outcomes in infants with CHD who had surgery ...

A comparison of third-generation semi-invasive arterial waveform analysis with thermodilution in patients undergoing coronary surgery [PDF]
Uncalibrated semi-invasive continous monitoring of cardiac index (CI) has recently gained increasing interest. The aim of the present study was to compare the accuracy of CI determination based on arterial waveform analysis with transpulmonary ...

Reeb periodic orbits after a bypass attachment [PDF]
On a 3-dimensional contact manifold with boundary, a bypass attachment is an elementary change of the contact structure consisting in the attachment of a thickened half-disc with a prescribed contact structure along an arc on the boundary. We give a model bypass attachment in which we describe the periodic orbits of the Reeb vector field created by the

Cardiopulmonary bypass in pregnancy
Cardiac surgery carried out on cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) in a pregnant woman is associated with poor neonatal outcomes although maternal outcomes are similar to cardiac surgery in non-pregnant women. Most adverse maternal and fetal outcomes from cardiac surgery during pregnancy are attributed to effects of CPB.

Abstract Aim Tissue hypoxia is an early key feature of acute kidney injury. Assessment of renal oxygenation using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) markers T2 and T2* enables insights into renal pathophysiology. This assessment can be confounded by changes in the blood and tubular volume fractions, occurring upon pathological insults.

Background Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is often performed with hypothermic cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) to reduce metabolic demands and protect the myocardium. However, hypothermia can increase bleeding risks and other complications.
