Predictive accuracy of systolic blood pressure to left ventricular end-diastolic pressure ratio versus TIMI score for short-term mortality after primary percutaneous coronary intervention [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Research
Introduction: Aim of this study was to evaluate the predictive performance of systolic blood pressure (SBP) to left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP) ratio for the prediction of in-hospital and short-term mortality in a contemporary cohort of ...

Radial or femoral access in primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI): Does the choice matters?

open access: yesIndian Heart Journal, 2020
Background: This study was conducted with the aim of providing a quantitative appraisal of clinical outcomes of trans-radial access for primary percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) in patients with ST-segment evaluation myocardial infarction (STEMI).

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

A Retrospective Analysis of Self-Limiting Fever following Percutaneous Patent Foramen Ovale and Atrial Septal Defect Closure

open access: yesCardiology Research and Practice
While percutaneous closure of patent foramen ovale (PFO) and atrial septal defect (ASD) are generally well-tolerated procedures, the development of postprocedure fever has been observed at a higher frequency than reported in the initial device trials. We

Factors associated with in-hospital mortality after coronary artery bypass grafting in patients with CHD and type 2 diabetes

open access: yesСахарный диабет, 2014
Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is the main method used for myocardial revascularisation in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM), and determining the factors affecting the outcomes of CABG in these patients is important. Objective.

HSP70 governs permeability and mechanotransduction in primary human endothelial cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
HSP70 chemical inhibition reduces endothelial cell proliferation and increases permeability, the latter supported by normal interendothelial junctional protein distribution. HSP70 also plays a role in shear stress response, a hemodynamic force naturally present in blood vessels and correlated with vessel protection.

Thrombolytic proteins profiling: High‐throughput activity, selectivity, and resistance assays

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We present optimized biochemical protocols for evaluating thrombolytic proteins, enabling rapid and robust screening of enzymatic activity, inhibition resistance, and fibrin affinity, stimulation, and selectivity. The outcome translates to key clinical indicators such as biological half‐life and bleeding risk. These assays streamline the development of

Diastolic Pulmonary Gradient as a Predictor of Right Ventricular Failure After Left Ventricular Assist Device Implantation

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2019
Background Diastolic pulmonary gradient (DPG) was proposed as a better marker of pulmonary vascular remodeling compared with pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) and transpulmonary gradient (TPG). The prognostic significance of DPG in patients requiring a

Six-months success of radiofrequency ablation in cardiac arrhythmias treatment: Experience of our centre [PDF]

open access: yesVojnosanitetski Pregled, 2019
Background/Aim. Numerous trials have shown a high success of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in the treatment of the patients with cardiac arrhythmias. We aimed to examine the RFA initial success in treatment of different cardiac arrhythmias and the RFA ...
