Modulation of cardiovascular control mechanisms and their interaction
Physiological Reviews, 1996It is generally held that the role of a specific control element can only be understood within its physiological environment. The reviewed studies make it clear that there is a potent interplay between locally produced substances such as adenosine, nitric oxide, prostaglandins, and various others all interacting with the central level of control. This

Cardiovascular–Pulmonary Interactions
2017Intramural pressures within a tube or circuit determine the rate and direction of flow, whereas the transmural pressure of an elastic structure determines its volume. In Chapter 1, we applied these principles when talking about the pressure needed to overcome viscous forces and elastic recoil during ventilation.

Overview of Green Tea Interaction with Cardiovascular Drugs
Current Pharmaceutical Design, 2015Sensitive to the massive diffusion of purported metabolic and cardiovascular positive effects of green tea and catechincontaining extracts, many consumers of cardiovascular drugs assume these products as a "natural" and presumably innocuous adjunctive way to increase their overall health.

Interaction of alcohol and stress at the cardiovascular level
Alcohol, 1990Research on the interaction of alcohol and stress on the cardiovascular system published since 1981 is reviewed. Important variables that can modify the interaction of alcohol and stress are also discussed. Consistent findings have come from studies on stress-induced tachycardia which has been shown to be decreased by alcohol ingestion.

The interaction of mexiletine with other cardiovascular drugs
American Heart Journal, 1984Drug-drug interactions can be adverse or beneficial and can be classified as pharmacokinetic or pharmacodynamic. Several adverse pharmacokinetic drug interactions have been described for mexiletine. Because it is a weak base, mexiletine undergoes several pH-dependent drug interactions in the gastrointestinal tract and kidney.

Cardiovascular interactions in respiratory failure
2016Abstract Acute respiratory failure not only impairs gas exchange, but also stresses cardiovascular reserve by increasing the need for increased cardiac output (CO) to sustain O2 delivery in the face of hypoxaemia, increased O2 demand by the increased work of breathing and inefficient gas exchange, and increased right ventricular ...
