Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

INFLUENCE ANALYSIS OF THE ATTACHMENT COORDINATES RELATING TO THE CARGO OSCILLATIONS ON THE PIPE LAYING CRANE’S BOOM

open access: yesВестник СибАДИ, 2018
Introduction. The work of a crane - a pipe-laying machine in difficult ground conditions has a significant influence on the process of performing the work and the mode of the machine operation. The unevenness of the microrelief is the main reason for the

Cargo Load Reduction

open access: yesScience, 2008
In eukaryotic cells, most newly synthesized secretory proteins are first translocated into the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and transit through organelles that constitute a secretory pathway. However, a fraction of them never reach the desired native state.

Cotargeting TREM2 and IL2 pathways triggers multipronged anticancer immunity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Von Locquenghien et al. report that MiTE‐144, a triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM2) blocking antibody fused to interleukin‐2 (IL2) variant with tumour microenvironment restricted activation, demonstrates superior anticancer efficiency in a preclinical setting.

Business Opportunities for a Ground Effect Vehicle - Case of Canary Islands

open access: yesTransport and Telecommunication
The need to decarbonise and reduce pollutant emissions from maritime transport is facilitating the studies of ground effect vehicles. Technical development in recent decade concerning unmanned flights in drones has supported this development.

Addressing certain issues of administrative and legal regulation of liability for violation of legal requirements for the safety of vehicle operation in Ukraine

open access: yesBulletin of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, 2023
Unfortunately, the state of law and order on the roads of Ukraine is extremely disappointing, and the sad statistics of road accidents and people injured in them are quite convincing.

ATG4B is required for mTORC1‐mediated anabolic activity and is associated with clinical outcomes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The relationship between anabolic and catabolic processes governing lung cancer cell growth is nuanced. We show that ATG4B, an autophagy regulator, is elevated in lung cancer and that high ATG4B is associated with worse patient outcomes. Targeting ATG4B in cells reduces growth, protein synthesis, and mTORC1 activity, demonstrating a new relationship ...

SIRT4 positively regulates autophagy via ULK1, but independently of HDAC6 and OPA1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells expressing SIRT4 (H161Y), a catalytically inactive mutant of the sirtuin SIRT4, fail to upregulate LC3B‐II and exhibit a reduced autophagic flux under stress conditions. Interestingly, SIRT4(H161Y) promotes phosphorylation of ULK1 at S638 and S758 that are associated with inhibition of autophagy initiation.

Cooperative transport by small teams of molecular motors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Molecular motors power directed transport of cargoes within cells. Even if a single motor is sufficient to transport a cargo, motors often cooperate in small teams.
