Carpometacarpal dislocation: an aid to diagnosis
Injury, 1992Although the 'true' lateral radiograph of the hand has improved diagnosis of carpometacarpal dislocation, cases can still be missed if only the carpometacarpal joint area is inspected, as overlap of the adjoining joints can make interpretation difficult.

Carpometacarpal dislocation of the little finger
Hand, 1976A case is reported of dislocation of the base of the fifth metacarpal treated by manipulation and percutaneous fixation with a Kirschner wire. Visualisation by the image intensifier confirmed the reduction. A lateral view is important to control the volar displacement.

Neurofibromatosis Contributing to Carpometacarpal Instability
Orthopedics, 2009Neurofibromatosis is well known to orthopedic surgeons for causing spinal curvature and tibial bowing. However, skeletal abnormalities of the hand related to this condition have rarely been reported. We present a unique case of neurofibromatosis causing bony changes possibly contributing to carpometacarpal instability.

CARPOMETACARPAL JOINT INJURIES OF THE FINGERS
Hand Clinics, 1992Injuries to the carpometacarpal joints are uncommon and are sometimes overlooked on initial radiographs. Their recognition depends on a careful physical and radiographic examination that may require trispiral tomograms and CT scans. Most injuries can be treated successfully by closed reduction and percutaneous fixation of the joint(s) using Kirschner ...
