Comparative study of copper (II) removal/recovery from aqueous solutions by bulk liquid membranes containing six different carriers

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2017
The removal/recovery of metals from secondary sources is an interesting research field from both economic and environmental view points. In this paper we study the removal/recovery of copper(II) from aqueous solutions by bulk liquid membranes through a ...

Prognostic Implications of Sleep Architecture for Patients Admitted to the Intensive Care Unit With Status Epilepticus

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Status epilepticus (SE) is associated with significant mortality. Sleep architecture may reflect normal brain function. Impaired sleep architecture is associated with poorer outcomes in numerous conditions. Here we investigate the association of sleep architecture in continuous EEG (cEEG) with survival in SE.

Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) in a Patient With Compound Heterozygous OPA1 Variants: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Vitrification in Open and Closed Carriers at Different Cell Stages: Assessment of Embryo Survival, Development, DNA Integrity and Stability during Vapor Phase Storage for Transport

open access: yesBMC Biotechnology, 2011
Background High cooling rates with vitrification can be achieved through the use of carriers that allow cryopreservation in fluid volumes < one μl. Open carriers allow direct contact of embryos with liquid nitrogen (LN2) whereas closed carrier systems ...

Carrier phase recovery of rotated 8/8-QAM signals

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2003
A low-complexity algorithm is introduced such that the Cramer-Rao lower bound for non-data-aided carrier phase recovery can be computed most efficiently. In the sequel, this result is used to develop a phase estimator for rotated 8/8-QAM as a powerful alternative to star 16-QAM modulated signals.

Performance of the ICAO standard core service modulation and coding techniques [PDF]

open access: yes
Aviation binary phase shift keying (A-BPSK) is described and simulated performance results are given that demonstrate robust performance in the presence of hardlimiting amplifiers. The performance of coherently-detected A-BPSK with rate 1/2 convolutional

Development of a Prediction Model for Progression Risk in High‐Grade Gliomas Based on Habitat Radiomics and Pathomics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the value of constructing models based on habitat radiomics and pathomics for predicting the risk of progression in high‐grade gliomas. Methods This study conducted a retrospective analysis of preoperative magnetic resonance (MR) images and pathological sections from 72 patients diagnosed with high‐grade gliomas (52 ...

Spinal Cord Infarction Versus Idiopathic Transverse Myelitis: Clinical, Radiological, and Functional Insights From a Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Spinal cord infarction (SCI) is a rare but devastating myelopathy, characterized by a high disability rate and an unfavorable prognosis. It has often been underdiagnosed and misdiagnosed as idiopathic transverse myelitis (ITM). This study aimed to describe the clinical features, radiological biomarkers, treatments, and functional ...

Research Into a Recovery Method of GNSS Authorized Service Signal Component

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
A code recovery method of a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) authorized service (AS) signal component is described under the condition of a high signal-to-noise ratio. The correctness of the spreading code verification can be used to monitor the
