Jointly Learned 3D Non-Cartesian Sampling With Wave Encoding and Reconstruction for Neurovascular Phase Contrast MRI. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Purpose To develop accelerated 3D phase contrast (PC) MRI using jointly learned wave encoding and reconstruction. Methods Pseudo‐fully sampled neurovascular 4D flow data (N = 40) and a simulation framework were used to learn phase encoding locations, wave readout parameters, and model‐based reconstruction network (MoDL) for a rapid 3D PC scan (

Solving for Blameless and Optimal Control Under Prioritized Safety Constraints
Summary of the proposed method for solving for blameless and optimal control sequences. ABSTRACT In many safety‐critical optimal control problems, users may request multiple safety constraints that are jointly infeasible due to external factors such as subsystem failures, unexpected disturbances, or fuel limitations.

Cartesian Grid Adaption in CFD
We present a single block adaption strategy for 3-D cartesian grids. The adaption process proceeds as an interface with the PHOENICS package. It allows continuous runs or unsteady calculations by reconstructing the interpolated solution on the new mesh at each adaption step.

Coexistence, crossover and extirpation in coalescent communities and ecotones
When two ecological communities come into contact, the strength of their mixing determines whether species coexist, extirpate, or extend their ranges. We present analytical formulas and simulations describing these transitions. Specifically, we derive abundance shifts upon community coalescence, identify the critical mixing strength leading to first ...

Manufacturability‐aware multi‐objective screening of Type IV filament‐wound composite pressure‐vessel cylindrical sections toward lightweight and high‐strength designs. ABSTRACT A manufacturability‐aware preliminary screening framework is proposed for the straight cylindrical section of filament‐wound Type IV composite pressure vessels.

Turbulent snow transport and accumulation: New reduced‐order models and diagnostics
Our new reduced‐order models of snow particle transport provide high‐fidelity calculations of snow accumulation in turbulent flows at significantly reduced computational costs. Additional accumulation diagnostics from the reduced‐order model predict complex patterns of particle concentration in turbulent boundary layers via coherent flow structures in ...

Study On A Nested Cartesian Grid Method
In this paper, the local grid refinement is focused by using a nested grid technique. The Cartesian grid numerical method is developed for simulating unsteady, viscous, incompressible flows with complex immersed boundaries. A finite volume method is used in conjunction with a two-step fractional-step procedure.

Forecast verification using information and noise
Verification of weather forecasts is usually expressed in terms of total error metrics. This is useful for end users of the forecasts but does not allow evaluation of the intrinsic information content of the forecasts. To overcome this limitation, we propose a new total error decomposition into information and noise error measures, connect it to ...

As part of the ongoing efforts to develop next‐generation forecasting systems at the Meteorological Service Singapore, this study presents the setup and evaluation of the SINGV_NG(MPAS) system. Overall, the SINGV_NG(MPAS) system outperforms European Centre for Medium‐Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) deterministic forecasts in capturing heavy rainfall ...
