Targeted‐Penetrating Biomimetic Hybrid Transfersomes for Enhanced Transdermal Gene Transfection in Hypertrophic Scar Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hypertrophic scar fibroblasts membrane‐hybridized cationic transfersomes enable efficient loading and transdermal delivery of TGF‐β1 siRNA through multiple skin penetration pathways. The biomimetic platform enhances homotypic targeting, transfection, and immune evasion, suppresses TGF‐β1‐driven fibrotic signaling, and reduces extracellular matrix ...

Comparison of temporalis fascia muscle and full-thickness cartilage grafts in type 1 pediatric tympanoplasties

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology
Introduction: Various graft materials have been used to close tympanic membrane perforations. In the literature, there are few studies in pediatric populations comparing different graft materials.

Versatile Microgel Platform for Intervertebral Disc Degeneration Therapy: Targeting Pericyte‐Mediated Fibrosis and Protecting Nucleus Pulposus Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The engineered MMS@TRP microgel enables targeted, acid‐responsive delivery of a miR‐21 inhibitor to pericytes. It effectively suppresses disc fibrosis by inhibiting TGF‐β signaling while protecting nucleus pulposus cells via sustained, antioxidant tannic acid release.

Evaluation of healing and hearing results of full thickness cartilage graft versus partial thickness cartilage graft in tympanoplasty

open access: yes, 2016
Introduction: There are numbers of grafting materials have been used to reconstruct the tympanic membrane perforation. Our aim was to evaluate the anatomical and audiological outcomes of tympanoplasty performed using tragal cartilage grafts of two ...

Digoxin Alleviates Osteoarthritis by Inhibiting Macrophage Extracellular Trap Formation via Disruption of the LSP1‐SOD1 Interaction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Synovial macrophages in osteoarthritis upregulate LSP1, which directly binds and inhibits SOD1, triggering a redox imbalance that activates both NOX and mitochondrial ROS pathways. This cascade drives the release of macrophage extracellular traps (METs), causing chondrocyte damage and disease progression.

Comparative Study between cartilage and perichondrium in endoscopic transcanal myringoplasty [PDF]

open access: yesAl-Azhar International Medical Journal
Background: The tympanic membrane transmits sound and protects the ear. Perforations affect hearing and quality of life. Myringoplasty repairs these using grafts like cartilage or perichondrium to restore function.

Reconstruction of a Severely Damaged Cartilaginous Septum with a Bypass L-Strut Graft using Costal Cartilage

open access: yes, 2021
Objectives Reconstruction of a weakened septal cartilage is a key procedure for the correction of deformed noses. However, when septal mucoperichondrium dissection is technically challenging, reconstruction of the lower two-thirds of the nose should be ...

Metabolic‐Redox Remodeling of Inflammatory Synovium by Mannose‐Modified Selenium Nanoparticles for Osteoarthritis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Elevated GLUT1‐driven glycolysis and disrupted selenoprotein‐dependent redox homeostasis drive osteoarthritic progression. Intra‐articular mannose‐modified selenium nanoparticles (M‐SeNPs) selectively target hypermetabolic synovial cells to reprogram aberrant glycolysis and restore endogenous antioxidant defenses.
