Virtual Synchronous Generator and SMC-Based Cascaded Control for Voltage-Source Grid-Supporting Inverters

IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics, 2022
The voltage-source grid-supporting inverters (GSIs) are important to establish and support the frequency and voltage of a microgrid (MG) in both islanded and grid-connected modes. Traditionally, a cascaded control strategy that includes an external droop-based control loop and an inner proportional-integral (PI) based voltage and current control loop ...

Cascaded Inner Loop Fuzzy SMC for DC–DC Boost Converter

Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers, 2023
In this paper, the implementation of the Fuzzy Sliding Mode Controller (FSMC) in the inner loop of the cascaded control structure of the DC–DC Boost Converter is presented. On account of nonlinearity and nonminimum phase nature, switched-mode DC–DC converters show a poor response in their dynamic characteristics.

Performance analysis of boost converter with cascaded inner loop fuzzy SMC

Circuit World, 2021
Purpose This paper intent to design, develop, and fabricate a robust cascaded controller based on the dual loop concept i.e. Fuzzy Sliding Mode concept in the inner loop and traditional Proportional Integral controller in the outer loop to reduce the unknown dynamics and disturbances that occur in the DC-DC Converter. Design/methodology/approach The

On multi-axis motion synchronization: The cascade control structure and integrated SMC–ADRC design

ISA Transactions, 2021
In this paper, the cascade control (CC), a structure popular among practitioners in many industry sectors, is used to bridge the two prominent research methodologies in SMC and ADRC for the purpose of multi-axis motion synchronization. In particular, the cascade sliding mode control(C-SMC) is first proposed, from which the cascade active disturbance ...

Dual-Objective Control Using an SMC-Based CW Current Controller for Cascaded Brushless Doubly Fed Induction Generator

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2020
This article proposes a dual-objective control method using a sliding-mode control (SMC)-based control winding (CW) current controller for cascaded brushless doubly fed induction generator (CBDFIG), where the smooth grid synchronization and flexible grid-connected power regulation are achieved with the same CW current controller.

A novel MIMO SMC for comprehensive unified control of the cascaded DC‐DC and DC‐AC converters in grid connected photovoltaic systems

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2023
SummaryIt is well known that DC‐DC boost converters are cascaded with DC‐AC inverters for grid connection of the photovoltaic (PV) systems. In the traditional control approaches, the mentioned DC‐DC and DC‐AC converters are controlled separately to facilitate the controller design problem.

Design and analysis of a double band hysteresis SMC for cascaded inverter-based PV system

2016 IEEE Region 10 Conference (TENCON), 2016
This paper presents a sliding mode controller (SMC) for a cascaded two-level inverter (CTLI)-based grid connected/ stand-alone photovoltaic (PV) system with double-band hysteresis scheme. The nonlinear SMC based PV system has been designed to inject the desired amount of active power even with variable solar irradiance and load change.
