ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

Cascading failures and maintenance optimization of urban transportation networks
A convenient urban transportation network facilitates a high-quality life and a high-growth economy. Due to cascading failures being a ticklish question triggering continuous road congestion, the maintenance plan is momentous to restore the urban ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Cascading failures in power grids
This paper focuses on cascading line failures in the transmission system of the power grid. Recent large-scale power outages demonstrated the limitations of percolation- and epid- emic-based tools in modeling cascades. Hence, we study cascades by using computational tools and a linearized power flow model.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Controllability Robustness Against Cascading Failure for Complex Logistic Network Based on Dynamic Cascading Failure Model [PDF]
Inspired by the empirical dynamic characteristics of the load of real logistics network, we propose a dynamic cascading failure model against cascading failure, which is more suitable for complex logistics network by adding dynamic factors based on the nonlinear load-capacity model under initial residual capacity load-redistribution strategy.

Data-Driven Distributionally Robust Mitigation of Risk of Cascading Failures
We introduce a novel data-driven method to mitigate the risk of cascading failures in delayed discrete-time Linear Time-Invariant (LTI) systems. Our approach involves formulating a distributionally robust finite-horizon optimal control problem, where the
