A Case-Based Classification of Respiratory Sinus Arrhythmia

open access: yes, 2004
Respiratory Sinus Arrhythmia has until now been analysed manually by reviewing long time series of heart rate measurements. Patterns are identified in the analysis of the measurements.

Effective retrieval and new indexing method for case based reasoning: Application in chemical process design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we try to improve the retrieval step for case based reasoning for preliminary design. This improvement deals with three major parts of our CBR system.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Fuzzy Case-Based Reasoning System

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2016
In this paper, we propose a fuzzy case-based reasoning system, using a case-based reasoning (CBR) system that learns from experience to solve problems. Different from a traditional case-based reasoning system that uses crisp cases, our system works with ...

Extracting Knowledge from Sensor Signals for Case-Based Reasoning with Longitudinal Time Series Data

open access: yes, 2008
In many industrial and medical diagnosis problems it is essential to investigate time series measurements collected to recognize existing or potential faults/diseases. Today this is usually done manually by humans.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

CBRR Model for Predicting the Dynamics of the COVID-19 Epidemic in Real Time

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
Because of the lack of reliable information on the spread parameters of COVID-19, there is an increasing demand for new approaches to efficiently predict the dynamics of new virus spread under uncertainty.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.
