Biomimetic dual-crosslinked GelMA-SilMA hydrogel microneedle for delivering DSPE-PEG2K-TAT-modified quercetin liposomes to treat rheumatoid arthritis via the caspase-8/caspase-3/GSDME pathway

open access: yesJournal of Nanobiotechnology
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by synovitis, whose pathogenesis remains unclear. Fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS) are central to the pathogenesis and progression of RA. This study aims to investigate the novel

RNA‐Micelles as Self‐Assembling Structures for Efficient Co‐Delivery of Synergistic siRNA and Nucleoside Analogues to Treat CRC Lung Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two kinds of self‐assembled RNA micelles were used to co‐deliver synergistic siRNA and nucleoside analogues for the treatment of colorectal cancer lung metastases. Near‐complete elimination of lung cancer metastases was confirmed in an orthotopic lung metastasis model constructed using human colorectal cancer lung metastases patient surgical samples to

A comparison of caspase 3 expression in the endocrine and exocrine parts of the pancreas after cladribine application according to the "leukemic" schema

open access: yesCurrent Issues in Pharmacy and Medical Sciences, 2017
The therapeutic effects of the immunosuppressive agent, cladribine, have been demonstrated by its toxicity to cells. However, its effects on healthy cells of the body is poorly understood. The aim of study was, hence, to, firstly, evaluate the morphology

Light Activated Induction of Cuproptosis in Resistant Cancer Cells Using Polymeric BODIPY Nanoparticles for Photoactivated Chemotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a photo‐responsive nanoparticle platform that precisely triggers copper‐dependent cuproptotic cell death in (drug‐resistant) cancer cells. The system remains stable and inactive in the dark but releases cytotoxic species upon red‐light irradiation, achieving potent activity in drug‐resistant breast cancer cells.

Caspase 3/7 Activity v1

open access: yes
The Caspase-Glo 3/7 Assay is a homogeneous, luminescent assay that measures caspase-3 and -7 activities. The assay provides a luminogenic caspase-3/7 substrate, which contains the tetrapeptide sequence DEVD, in a reagent optimized for caspase activity, luciferase activity and cell lysis.

Targeting Post‐Irradiation Thyroid Dysfunction: Electrospun Scaffolds As A Dual‐Action Approach for Antioxidant and Immune Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...

Hemoglobin Removal by Zinc Sulfate to Assay Level and Activity of Red Blood Cell Caspase 3 Using ELISA and Colorimetric Methods

open access: yesJournal of Ardabil University of Medical Sciences, 2023
Background & objectives: Zinc sulfate binds to the R group of some amino acids, such as histidine and cysteine, resulting in protein precipitation. In an ELISA and colorimetric experiments, we determined the optimal concentration of zinc sulfate to ...

Spherical Skin Model: Stratified Co‐Culture of Fibroblasts and Keratinocytes on Spherical Beads Toward Compound Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Models of the human skin must combine the relevant biological contents and suitable biomaterials with the correct spatial organization. Performing compound screening on such in vitro models also requires fast and reproducible production methods of the models.

A 3D Bioprinted Spheroid‐Laden dECM‐Enriched Osteosarcoma Model for Enhanced Drug Testing and Therapeutic Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D biomimetic OS model was developed by bioprinting an OS‐cell‐derived dECM‐enriched bioink with OS spheroids incorporated. The model showed upregulation of known OS prognostic markers and increased resistance to doxorubicin, compared to 2D cultures and scaffold‐free spheroids, making this a more clinically relevant platform for drug discovery ...
