A comprehensive assessment of cassava brown streak disease (CBSD) and cassava mosaic disease (CMD) was carried out in Comoros where cassava yield (5.7 t/ha) is significantly below the African average (8.6 t/ha) largely due to virus diseases. Observations

First report of cassava mosaic geminiviruses and the Uganda strain of East African cassava mosaic virus (EACMV-UG) associated with cassava mosaic disease in Equatorial Guinea [PDF]
Cassava is infected by numerous Begomoviruses in Africa and India that cause devastating losses to poor farmers. In order to identify viruses responsible for the disease and characterize them, surveys were conducted in all cassava production zones in Togo. The symptom severity of these viral diseases was recorded.

First Report of Cassava Mosaic Disease and Sri Lankan Cassava Mosaic Virus in Laos [PDF]
Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) has been traditionally grown as a subsistence crop in Laos, but in recent years cassava cultivation in this country has expanded and is becoming a 'cash crop' for farmers (Malik et al., 2020). Virus content of leaves of cassava infected by African cassava mosaic virus [PDF]
SUMMARYAfrican cassava mosaic virus (ACMV) was detected in cassava leaves by ELISA. Some normal constituents of cassava leaves interfered with virus detection but leaf extracts of Nicotiana benthamiana did not. The symptom pattern was determined early in the growth of a leaf and subsequently changed little.
