Preparation and characterization of carboxymethyl cassia obovata gum and their utilization in textile printing

Cassia obovata gum was isolated from cassia obovata seeds, the yield of the gum was 22.5% of the original seed weight. The gum was subjected to chemical modification via carboxymethylation under a variety of conditions. Variables studied include concentration of the etherifying agents and the preparation medium.
