Modeling of solidification of TiAl alloys in centrifugal casting

Abstract After a blossoming pre‐World War II (WWII) period, the concrete construction industry in then‐socialist Hungary existed in a relative isolation from the Western World during the mid‐20th century. In this paper, we focus on the body of work of one of the then newly established state‐owned design offices, IPARTERV, to show how the isolation ...

Abstract The decisive reinforcement of thick concrete members is often determined by the minimum reinforcement for crack control due to restraint stresses. In contrast to the heuristic design model in Eurocode 2, a mechanically sound methodology is only provided if the deformation compatibility is considered.

Effect of pouring system on shrinkage porosity of TiAl alloy rod castings by centrifugal casting
Numerical simulation was used to study the influence of the diameter and riser structure of rod castings on the shrinkage porosity of TiAl alloy rod castings by centrifugal casting. The reasons for the influence were analyzed according to the filling and solidification temperature fields.

Innovative development and structural behavior of hollow columns using inflatable molds
Abstract This study introduces a novel approach for constructing hollow columns using precast (PC) methods enhanced by inflatable air tubes as internal molds. The proposed method addresses practical challenges in conventional hollow column construction, such as limited constructability, high production cost, and interference between internal molds and ...
