Ion Source Complementarity for Characterization of Complex Organic Mixtures Using Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometry: A Review

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Complex organic mixtures are found in many areas of research, such as energy, environment, health, planetology, and cultural heritage, to name but a few. However, due to their complex chemical composition, which holds an extensive potential of information at the molecular level, their molecular characterization is challenging.

Two Types of q$$ q $$‐Gaussian Distributions Used to Study the Diffusion in a Finite Region

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this work, we explore both the ordinary q$$ q $$‐Gaussian distribution and a new one defined here, determining both their mean and variance, and we use them to construct solutions of the q$$ q $$‐deformed diffusion differential equation. This approach allows us to realize that the standard deviation of the distribution must be a function of

A methodological approach to estimating the money demand in pre-industrial economies: probate inventories and Spain in the 18th century [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The study of monetary phenomena and the understanding of price determination in Modern Europe are too often limited by the scarcity of good-quality data sets on the evolution across time of variables like money holdings, income, or wealth.

Neuroprotective Potential of the Flavonoids Quercetin and Epicatechin in a C. elegans Tauopathy Model

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, EarlyView.
Epicatechin and quercetin enhanced healthspan in the C. elegans BR5270 tauopathy model, associated with the upregulation of autophagy‐related and α‐tubulin synthesis genes, and the downregulation of genes involved in the unfolded protein response. ABSTRACT The prevalence of cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer's disease (AD) is increasing due to the ...

A new look at the Heston characteristic function

open access: yes, 2009
A new expression for the characteristic function of log-spot in Heston model is presented. This expression more clearly exhibits its properties as an analytic characteristic function and allows us to compute the exact domain of the moment generating ...

Environmentally Friendly Blowing Agents for Producing Polyisocyanurate (PIR) Foams: Study of the Thermal Conductivity Aging and Mechanical Properties

open access: yesNano Select, EarlyView.
HFO leads to PIR foams with the lowest thermal conductivity after 7 years (30 days), being maintained in the foam cells for longer times. HFO constitutes a non‐flammable and environmentally sustainable alternative to replace the hazardous conventional foaming agents in these foams.

Crónica de Castilla

open access: yes, 2010
Cet ouvrage constitue la première édition d’une version complète de la Chronique de Castille. Peu étudiée et n’ayant fait l’objet que d’éditions partielles, la Chronique de Castille a pourtant connu au Moyen Âge un succès et une postérité considérables.
