Shaping Matter with Acoustic Waves: From Particles to Functional Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Acoustic‐directed assembly is reviewed as a materials‐oriented strategy for organizing particles, polymers, metals, and biological systems into functional structures. The review distinguishes reversible manipulation from permanent structure formation through medium fixation, particle fixation, and in situ material generation, highlighting routes toward

Chemical composition and fermentation characteristics of sugar cane silage enriched with detoxified castor bean meal

open access: yesArquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia, 2015
This experiment was designed to evaluate the effects of the inclusion of detoxified castor bean meal (CM) content on the chemical-bromatological composition, as well as the fermentation characteristics and dry matter losses of sugarcane silage.

Low‐Fraction Irregular Inclusions Trigger Large Compression Stiffening in Biopolymer Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Irregular inclusions at low filler fractions trigger large compression stiffening in biopolymer hydrogels. By promoting contact‐network formation under compression, these inclusions induce non‐affine rearrangements, stretch surrounding fibers, and provide parallel load‐bearing pathways.

A biorefinery model for the production of oil and biomethane using castor plants

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, 2023
Castor (Ricinus communis L.) is an important oilseed crop worldwide whose inedible oil is widely used in the industrial, pharmaceutical, and agricultural sectors. Castor plants show high conversion potential for use as biorefining feedstocks. The present

All‐Solution‐Processed HgTe Quantum Dot Photodetectors for Extended Short‐Wavelength Infrared Range Enhanced by Plasmonic ITO Nanocrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
All‐solution‐processed, low‐cost extended short‐wavelength infrared photodetectors are realized by coupling colloidal HgTe quantum dots to plasmonic In2O3:Sn,F nanocrystals. Localized surface plasmon resonances boost and spectrally tailor light absorption between 1500 and 3000 nm, enabling responsivities above 40 A W−1.

Electrospun Wood‐Derived Biopolymers as Electrodes in Electrochemical Energy Storage Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrospinning transforms wood‐derived cellulose and lignin into architecturally defined, binder‐free carbon electrodes with tuneable porosity and functionality. This review shows how fibre design enables decoupled charge and mass transport, enhancing performance across battery systems, while identifying key challenges in spinnability, scalability ...

Supplementary effect of yeast (Saccharomyces Cerevisiae) on rearing performance of Eri Silkworm (Philosamia Ricini) in respect of some larval parameter

open access: yesEnvironment Conservation Journal, 2016
Silkworm need higher protein & probiotic in their diet to help its body repair cell & to make fiber exclusively at V instar. Nutrition of silkworm is sole factor which at most individually quality and quantity of silk (Laskar and Datta, 2000).
