Interferometric Phase Calibration Sources in the Declination Range 0deg to -30deg

open access: yes, 2002
We present a catalog of 321 compact radio sources in the declination range 0deg > delta > -30deg. The positions of these sources have been measured with a two-dimensional rms accuracy of 35 milliarcseconds using the NRAO Very Large Array. Each source has

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Librarian Hacks: Introducing the Virtual Theological Library Project

open access: yes, 2016
Acquiring a low-cost library catalog is problematic, but there are a number of tools to ‘hack’ a library catalog. While no free product rivals the usability and searching sophistication of proprietary ILS systems, I believe that the Virtual Theological ...

Globular Clusters as Candidates for Gravitational Lenses to Explain Quasar-Galaxy Associations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We argue that globular clusters (GCs) are good candidates for gravitational lenses in explaining quasar-galaxy associations. The catalog of associations (Bukhmastova 2001) compiled from the LEDA catalog of galaxies (Paturel 1997) and from the catalog of ...

Suppression of lung adenocarcinoma migration through organelle alkalization by human lactoferrin – albumin fusion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

A general overview of the catalog of recent seismicity compiled by the Mexican Seismological Survey [PDF]

open access: yesGeofísica Internacional, 2000
We have analyzed the catalog of recent (1974-1998) seismicity in Mexico, based on the automatically compiled reports of the Servicio Sismológico Nacional (Mexican Seismological Survey). To this end, we employed various tools developed for the analysis of
