Millimeter-Thick Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube Forests: Hidden Role of Catalyst Support

open access: yes, 2007
A parametric study of so-called "super growth" of single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWNTs) was done by using combinatorial libraries of iron/aluminum oxide catalysts.

SiC nanocrystals as Pt catalyst supports for fuel cell applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A robust catalyst support is pivotal to Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFCs) to overcome challenges such as catalyst support corrosion, low catalyst utilization and overall capital cost.

Iron homeostasis disruption and lipid peroxidation in skeletal muscle during short‐term immobilization

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.

Mono- and double carbonylation of aryl iodides with amine nucleophiles in the presence of recyclable palladium catalysts immobilised on a supported dicationic ionic liquid phase [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Silica modified with organic dicationic moieties proved to be an excellent support for palladium catalysts used in the aminocarbonylation of aryl iodides.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

Preparation and Characterization of NiMo/Al2O3Catalyst for Hydrocracking Processing

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
Hydrocracking is a chemical process used in petroleum refineries for converting high boiling hydrocarbons in petroleum crude oils to more valuable lower boiling products such as gasoline, kerosene, and diesel oil that operate at high temperature and ...

Ultrasonic treatment with nickel electroplating combined with oxidation for developing γ-Al2O3 washcoat on Fe-Cr-Al substrate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Fe-Cr-Al is used as metallic support for catalytic converter due to its high thermal conductivity, lower heat capacity, high temperature and mechanical shock resistance. γ-Al2O3 is the most widely used material as washcoat which embedded on metallic

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

Catalyst cartridge for carbon dioxide reduction unit [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
A catalyst cartridge, for use in a carbon dioxide reducing apparatus in a life support system for space vehicles, is described. The catalyst cartridge includes an inner perforated metal wall, an outer perforated wall space outwardly from the inner wall ...

Hydrogen production by methanol steam reforming on NiSn/MgO-Al 2O3 catalysts: The role of MgO addition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The effect of the magnesia loading on the surface structure and catalytic properties of NiSn/MgO-Al2O3 catalysts for hydrogen production by methanol steam reforming has been investigated. The catalysts have been obtained by impregnation of γ-Al2O3 by the
